UPDATE!
Hello, JoshLias 💚 This is it!
Sunny POV
I'm admiring the picture of Jack Evans on my table while waiting for someone to call in our life line.
As a counselor, it is our duty in the town to listen to everyone's difficulties. Our mission to give them advices and guide them to be still.
'Hay, Life'
"What should I do now?" I asked the immobile picture of Jack Evans.
*Telephone Rings.
"Yes, this is Sunny. What can I help you with?" I said as I picked up the phone.
"Uh... uh" The caller gives a not clear communication. I couldn't understand what's he's saying.
"I'm sorry but I'm having a trouble hearing you. Could you please speak up a bit?" I told him to.
"I can call if I'm going through a hard time, right?" he finally confessed clearly.
"Yes, sir. Could you please speak up a bit?"
"Uh... It's just. I'm feeling so frustrated..."
[Male. Estimated to be in his 20s]
"...I called without realizing" as he continued to speak up.
"I see, sir"
"Have you been experiencing difficulties?" I asked him.
I feel that he's in doubt to speak up more. "It's okay. You can talk to me." I assured him.
No matter what difficulties are. It's a challenge to conquer with great faith and hope.
It's one of the reason why I applied for this job. I want to encourage and remind the people that life is great. You should never waste it because you're sad or frustrated this day.
Always remember that it's just a bad day not a bad life.
"Uh well, I just..." he speak up again now. And I waited for him to complete what's he's about to say.
"I just hate my face so much."
He reasoned out. "I understand, sir"
[Critical of appearance]
"No one is fully satisfied with their looks."
I looked at Jack Evans picture on my table.
"Even people who look perfect, like Jack Evans have their own insecurities. What's more important than appearance is....."
"Seriously, please! Please stop talking about Jack Evans!"
I was cutted on what I'm about to say when he shouted over the phone. I even immediately removed my headphone.
"I called because I'm going through a hard time. That's why I called. Must I hear about Jack Evans from you too?! This wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Jack Evans!" he explained himself, angrily.
[Feels victimized due to appearance.]
"Yes, sir. I'm very sorry for offending you" I apologized to him, at the end of it. I'm the on call counselor. I must listen to his difficulties.
"Seriously, I... I..." he cried out.
'He must have a very hard life' I thought.
"My life is hard. Because I look like Jack Evans."
'What?'
I was shocked by the way he said it. He looks like Jack Evans? Seriously?
"Excuse me?..."
"... You look like him?..."
"... Jack Evans?"
"I'm having such a hard time. Because I look like Jack Evans" he repeatedly said.
My gosh.
"If only I didn't have this face!"
I whispered in my headphone that "So, what you're saying is..."
"... You hate your face because you look like Jack Evans?..."
"... Is that right?"
"Never mind. Sorry for getting mad. Sorry. Goodbye." he hang up the phone.
"Hello? Sir?" as I still reach his voice.
I immediately scan where he is on the monitor. And saw that he's in the Shed bridge.
And I remember someone in that bridge.
I get up now and run to that bridge. I should stop what he might do in that bridge and also I have to confirm if he's really saying the truth that he looks like Jack Evans.
Almost 10 minutes of running.
"Oh, I must be crazy. As if he'd really look like him." Then, I saw a man standing in the bridge, who is looking unknowingly in space.
And he looked at me.
His face light up.
Is this really true?
I couldn't keep my eyes to him.
"Jack Evans."
