i could sense that it was morning. My body was telling me to wake up that i had things to do but there was just no way i was getting up now. Ugh but i needed to. i rolled over to wrap my arms around my husband but he wasn't there. his side of the bed was cold, he'd been gone awhile. i opened my eyes and looked around where could her be? so i got out of bed and wrapped a robe around me and went downstairs, following the smell of food cooking. i walked into the kitchen and saw my two year old son sitting in his high chair eating and my five year old son at the table eating while my husband was over the stove cooking.
"Nathan what are you doing?" i asked him
"You're not supposed to be up yet Mommy!" the five year old yelled at me. i turned around.
"Okay! I'm going back to bed!" i could hear Nathan chuckle as i walked back up the stairs. so i crawled back into bed and waited until i was allowed to get up. A few minutes later, Nathan walked in carrying a tray fully of food. my five year old had a rose in his hand and the two year old had a box in his hands. The little ones gave me the gift and left. shutting the door behind them. I turned to Nathan with a smile on my face.
"Happy Anniversary Mrs. Sykes. Today makes seven wonderful years." he kissed me.
