As much as everyone hates it, Rudy Steiner was ment to die. He did not deserve it, he should have died much latter in a better way but he was ment to die right then and there if that makes any sense.
Rudys soul was standing, watching, as he saw Liesel weeping over his dead body, as i said before he would love if liesel cried over him and a bit of Rudy was happy. Happy that Liesel cared that much, that Liesel loved him as much as he loved her. It might have taken time but it was always there. The love Liesel had for Rudy, as much as she denied it, it was seeping though the cracks of her broken heart. Rudy watched and he was about to leave when he stopped and stayed to witness Liesel Meminger kiss him. He could not believe it. A part of him was angry and another was sad but most of all he was hurt. I could see it, i could see how hurt he was. For Liesel choose now to do it. "Why" rudy asked himself "why"
* A simple truth*
Liesel was afraid. Afraid that this would happen, him being torn from her like everything else. Afraid of how she truly feels.
Every time Rudy and Liesel were together she would fell safe, as if all the bad things just floated away. Except for when the times were really bad. Like when they both had their papas sent away. Or when liesel thought of max when he was ill, or the one dreaded moment when max and herself were whipped. And in those times if Rudy was there he would Comfort her even if he did not know what was bothering her her, he hated seeing her sad. He knew he loved her in every way possible.
**A small but important fact**
Rudy would always be there for Liesel, even in death.
They shared a moment after Liesel kissed his bomb hit lips. In that moment, that perfect moment Rudy had with Liesel was when they felt each others love even when one of the was dead. Liesel felt Rudy's warmth radiating through that line of life and death. Liesel could feel Rudy's pain, sorrow. And just for a second, a split i swear i saw Liesel looking right at Rudy's soul crying softly.
I witnessed the entire thing. It hurt. Oh how it hurt. I saw both friends with love so powerful they broke the barrier of life and death. Not for long but they broke it, and thats the very first time that happened. I desperately wanted Rudy's soul to stay but i had to move on. I tried leaving but the boy. That boy would not let me. I tugged and tugged but he wouldn't let way. I softly whispered something to him and after a bit he let me take him away. Liesel felt the withdrawal, she felt Rudy's soul leave. After she felt that she was at peace. She felt Rudy's soul and thats all she needed.
*the whisper*
You will see her again.
Not today, not tomorrow but soon.
