First Date with Mr. Popular

At the Park…

 

Luhan’s POV

 

We were holding hands while walking till we reached the park. It hasn’t been that long since I last went here. But back then, I went with a different girl who asked me out for a friendly date.

My eyes wandered towards the ice cream stall, I gently pulled Jasmine towards it.

                    

“What flavor do you want, Baby?” I asked her not letting her hand go.

“Strawberry.”

I just smiled then ordered the same thing. After we got our ice creams, we went to stroll around the area. She was looking upfront with an unreadable expression on her face. I turned to where she was looking and saw some teens probably the same age as we are. They were somewhat having a small dance competition. I smirked at the thought of joining them.

“Baby, do you wanna see something amazing?” I asked her.

With a blank expression, she looked up on me then nodded. My smirked grew wider at her response. I led her towards the bench where she can see a full view of the match that was happening.

I walked towards the dudes and asked them if I could join in, they all nodded in agreement. They started the music then one dude walked in the middle and started break dancing. Before ending his turn, he pulled up one of my sleeves, saying he was provoking me. I grinned at him and showed off my talents. I started to crack up my neck then did a handstand, back flip, shake up everything I have, I showed off how I can be a dancing machine when I want to. After my turn, all of their looks were priceless, some left their jaws hanging and some just couldn’t believe what I just did in a span of a few minutes. A few more rounds later, only me and the same dude who provoked me remained, the others were beaten off. He decided to go first, after a few moments, he tried doing what I did earlier but obviously failed.

Before I did my last turn, I looked at Jasmine from where she was sitting, she was smiling. I was somewhat flustered to see her smile for the first time. I heard from school that she was emotionless, but it turns out that she’s way different from what others think she really is. I took a deep breath and flashed her my most sincere and blissful smile, she blushed. I chuckled then for the last time showed off what I’m made of. At my last spin, I picked up one rose from the bushes then kneeled in front of her offering the rose from my hand. All I could hear were cheers from all the people who were there.

I looked up at her, “For you, Baby.” Then she shyly accepted the rose from me then I hugged her. Again, cheers were heard everywhere.

After enjoying ourselves at the park, we went strolling again when we passed by The Lake of KaiSoo. Her eyes showed glee and I was happy to see it myself. I looked at her, she was just admiring the place.

“Do you want to go, Sweetheart? We can hit two birds in one stone for our first date today.” I told her.

She gladly nodded at me, she was showing me her true self. Something that others find difficult to see, she was no cyborg or machine like what they named her, she was a princess with a tough mask to hide herself. She wants others to see that she’s capable on her own and that she can manage without the help from anyone. But with all the tough act she was showing, there was a soft little girl inside her, a gentle princess hiding within not wanting to be seen or discovered by the world.

I was happy to see that she finds comfort in me. I’m her comfort zone, no masks, no pretentions, just me and her. A world where we both find ourselves enjoying each other’s company, no pressure, no what if’s, just plain you and me.

We walked off and rode on one of the boats there, I was the one who paddled. It was actually my first time there. I was staring at her while she looked around, a few moments later she spoke.

“Have you heard of the tale of this lake?” she asked me.

“I have no idea.” I told her with a smile while I shook my head.

She smiled, turned her looks away, “They said that Kai and Kyungsoo were secret lovers. Their relationship was a secret to all. Both their families were once united but was broken off by some misunderstanding of some sort. They would always sneak out and meet up in this lake just to be together. One night, Kai tried to run away with Kyungsoo to have their happiness. But sadly, they were found out even before they could run away. Kai was shot at his chest right at his heart, at his last breath he promised to wait for Kyungsoo in the afterlife. He told her that he’ll wait no matter how long it takes, so she just has to live on until then. Kyungsoo never married after Kai’s death and would always go here every night. Until her old age, she still came here waiting for Kai to take her with him. She died at the age of 73, their love was eternal. They wanted to defy all odds, even if they’ll go head-to-head with their families. They said that if you went to this lake for the first time with someone special to you, just like the love of KaiSoo, your love will be eternal as well. Not even death can defy your relationship.”

She sighed in relief then faced me, I was just admiring her beautiful face.

“It’s actually my first time here, I really wanted to go here with you.” She said shyly.

“It’s my first as well, Sweetheart.” I told her honestly which made her blush.

After I told her that, I didn’t know what took over me and went near her. Our faces were inches apart when she closed her eyes. I let out a small smile then kissed the top her nose. She blushed even more after what I did.

“That’s all for now, Princess.” I told her then pulled away.

I smirked, dating her wasn’t bad at all. Maybe I’ll have a lot if fun this whole month with her.
