KILLING TIME
❝ I am flawed. I am cracked. I am many things, but I am not broken. ❞
Chantelle Sethi was doing quite alright; at least, she hoped she was. A renowned gallery artist turned story board artist, she was having a wonderful time living comfortably with her roommate in their apartment in Nolita, volunteering at a center that raised awareness for rights for disabled primarily working with youth to help the younger generations pave the way towards a brighter future; being Hard of Hearing, she wanted to give people the knowledge that they weren't broken, something she had never been given when she was younger. Needless to say, she was happy, for the most part.
After being commissioned to do a series of pieces for an art gallery opening to raise awareness of stigma against disabled people, she found herself in search of a studio, as it had been years since she had done gallery work; and years since her father had passed. Stumbling upon a too perfect Craigslist ad for a near perfect studio, she found herself knocking on the door of one Stephen Strange, an aloof man who insisted that he didn't put up any ad listing, seeming more concerned than anything else. Despite his concerns, he reluctantly rented out a small portion of the building to Chantelle with the instructions to only stick to her part of the place.
As time goes on and the two begin to grow closer, they find themselves running into roadblock after roadblock, Stephen dealing with his responsibilities as protecter of the New York Sanctum, and Chantelle dealing with her art block manifested by the death of her father. But even as the two struggle to overcome their own personal struggles, a threat all of its own is bubbling beneath the surface of New York, threatening to destroy all the two had worked so hard to build.
It's a race against time and the two find that wasting time was a luxury neither could afford; if they wanted to make it out alive, they couldn't simply waste time, they had to kill it first. Because wasting time would mean they had some to spare; killing time meant there was too much to lose.
