Your POV.

•••••

Red that's all you could see. You could not tell who was who or what exactly was in the room with you. Everything was blurred. Red dark red blobs against a red backdrop. You no longer had control over your actions. Something was moving your limbs for you, what though, you had no idea.

Then there was pain. Pain throughout your entire being, from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes. A ringing in your ears and your vision darkened slightly.

Death? Is this what death feels like? You couldn't help but wonder. If it was, than it was anything but peaceful like others claimed it would be. If this was death, than what was the appeal?

You could feel your body hit something hard, although you couldn't exactly know what. More pain shot through your your body on contact. You screamed but whether or not sound actually escaped your mouth was beyond you. You couldn't hear anything except the ringing in your ears.

Your body curled in on itself, your hands going over your ears trying to block out the sound. Your eyes squeezed tight and all you could see was red. There was no blackness with fireworks behind your eyelids. Nothing but red.

Fight it, (Y/N). I need you to fight it. The words in your head were nothing but a quiet whisper. Background noise compared to the ringing. You almost missed the words and probably would have if they were spoken by anyone besides Gilbert.

"(Y/N) fight it. Imagine something with colour or your happiest moments. Do not let the anger take ahold of you."

Anger, what a funny word. People have dubbed mad as a kind of anger although it's original meaning was crazy and nothing but that. You had no idea why these thoughts came to mind. Information you had learned forever ago triggered by Gilbert's words.

Gilbert. Gilbert was so much to you. You couldn't deny that even if you wanted to. He took you in raised you, loved you like no one else seemed to. You loved him so much, more than anything, really how could you not? He had been the one real constant thing in your life, your rock that kept you from being swept away.

Imagine your happiest moments. You probably could t do that if you tried. You actually had quite a hard time picking out a happiest moment. How did people just know things like that? There were just too many moments to go through to know which was the time you felt the happiest.

Yet you tried anyway. You searched your mind trying to find your happiest moment. Going through your happy moments in your mind, you couldn't help but notice that they all involved one thing. Gilbert.

His messy white hair and his pale skin. His lopsided grin that appeared on his face every time he was genuinely happy or had just made some sort of stupid joke. He had a freckle in front of his ear that hardly anyone every saw because it was covered by his hair. He was cocky and hard to get close to, only because he had been through so much and didn't want to lose anymore people. But once you made it passed his walls you got to see the soft and caring side that so little people got to see.

Laughter echoed in your ears as you say there, letting the mud and water soak into your pants. You were about maybe eleven at the time, you and Gilbert thought it would be a good idea to go and jump around in the puddles after the rain. Most would assume that being eleven it was actually your idea to do so. But no, it had been Gilbert's idea.

You had been doing nothing besides mopping around. Gilbert had had a world meeting with the other countries that day, leaving you alone. He got back, clearly defeated. But one look at you and all his energy came back. His lopsided grin on his face as he suggested that you and him go outside for a while.

Now you had actually though it idiotic when Gilbert suggested jumping in the puddles. Or more like the giant puddle you were standing before. So you stood there staring at the puddle, almost as if you were trying to make it evaporate. Although it didn't work of course.

"Come on, (Y/N)." Gilbert said with so much glee in his voice as he jumped into the puddle. You weren't safe from the splash and flinched as the water hit you. Instantly you glared at Gilbert, knowing that he had done that with full intentions of getting you wet.

Gilbert continued to hop around in the giant puddle like some sort of kangaroo. Five hops away and then he looked back at you. He had this childish gleam in his eye and he motioned for you to follow. You could help but roll your eyes but in that moment you broke. You jumped in the puddle.

You and Gilbert jumped around in the puddle, kicking water at each other and just having a good time. A smile on your face so wide that you could feel your muscles begin to ache, but you couldn't have wiped the smile off your face if you tried. One glance in Gilbert's direction and you could see that. Along with the sparkle in his eyes, all dark shadows of the past gone, at least for a little bit.

You went to kick water at Gilbert again - which was all in vain since his waves of water seemed to block it almost every time - when your feet lost their footing. You fell backwards landing on you bum. Instantly you could feel the mud and water soaking into your pants. It was an uncomfortable feeling and your smile fell from your face.

Gilbert laughed but stopped as soon as he saw the look on your face. It instantly softened and he made his way over to you. "Let's get you home." Gilbert said reaching out a hand to help you up. You didn't know that as soon as you were up he'd give you a piggy back ride all the way home because it was too awkward to walk. You didn't know that he planned on making you some hot cocoa to warm you up from the chill that would settle in your bones. And you didn't know that this would be one of your happiest moments.

With the last little bit red vision fading away so the only thing that was red were Gilbert's eyes, you reached up and grabbed him hand and then your vision went black.

Olive's POV

The scream was for nothing. You had jumped at her but did nothing but collide with her. No nails dug into her skin and she wasn't bit either. When she looked down at you, she was shocked to find out unconscious.

Everything after that was a blur for her. So much had happened in such a little time. Shock took over her body. She didn't know what had gone on around her. She was only vaguely aware that she had grabbed you and pulled you out from the house while everyone was too shocked to react or running for their lives.

Someone had come and helped her, although she couldn't remember who. With one of your arms around her shoulders and the other person supporting the other side you guys had made it through the forest and to the nearest town.

Now though, she sat by the foot of your bed, waiting for you to wake up. Ludwig and Feliciano checking in every so often. Gilbert sat right beside you, refusing to move at all. His voice was back to normal but what did that mean for you? After all it was the weird thing with Gilbert that stopped you from dying.

Whatever happened to you though, Olive just wanted you to know that this time, your efforts were not pointless. All of the Scar Holders had made it out and were now safely at home.

Whoo! An update. Why I am I updating this time even with my busy schedule? Well you see, I made some time to update so I can thank all of you guys. I reached 200 followers the other day and wanted to update so I could thank all of you. I never thought I would get this far, heck I never thought I would get past ten followers. So again thank you all so much.

Also, I am very sorry to say, but this is the last chapter in this story. One more update is left to come and that will be the epilogue. And another thank you to all of you who have made it far into this. It means a lot to me.
