You Deserved Better

The First Time I Saw You

"Katherine Langford."
A guy called out my name, startling me, i got up from the couch and walked towards him.

"My name is Brian Yorke, I'm the producer." He smiled at me, i did kind of remember his face from the audition via Skype.

"Since you are accepted for the part of the leading role, Hannah Baker, we would like to discuss a few things with you first about the story and the script." he continued.

I nodded, and followed him to a room that looked like a conference room where a few people were sitting facing each other.

Brian's assistant handed me a file containing the storyline. I inspected it a bit.

"Uh, you can sit next to Tom." Brian pointed at an empty seat next to a guy i assumed was Tom.

I sat next to Tom and smiled at him, nodding respectfully.
When i looked up, i noticed there was someone who was very recognisable and i was quite surprised to see her there.

Selena Gomez was sitting across from me!

I made an awkward facial expressions trying to smile at her.

"I forgot to mention, Selena auditioned for the Hannah Baker role. She didn't get it but became one of our executive producer instead." said Brian. Brian seemed like a really nice and kind guy. The way he talked, made me calmer.

Selena nodded at me, "I'm so glad i get to finally meet you!" she said.

I couldn't believe Selena Gomez said that to me, to be honest, i thought I was the one who was so glad meeting her.

"Hi, i never thought i'd meet Selena Gomez in real life. You are so beautiful!" i said to her.
She giggled and said thank you.

The meeting lasted for almost two hours. I was abled going back to my hotel.

I was from Australia, so i didn't actually had a place to live here in California.

I got in to my car and drove to my hotel, it was only a few blocks from the building i was in.

I reached the hotel parking lot, parked my car, went in and on to the elevator, walked to my room, changed my clothes and went straight to bed.

The first day of filming.
I was so excited. Usually the first day of filming was going to be taken slowly.
Casts introduction, storyline description, etc.

I walked in a building that looked like a huge barn, people were walking in and out.

I came closer towards a crowd where i could see Brian, Tom, and Selena.

"Ah, Katherine. Come, the introduction is about to begin." Brian gestured his hand for me to come towards him.

Everybody turned their head to me and smiled. I thought, was i late or something because there were many people already.

I stood beside a girl with short haircut. "Hi, I'm Michelle." she said, poking the back of my hand.

"Hey, I'm Katherine. Umm, am i late or something?" i asked her.

"No, Brian said a few other guys aren't here yet, so he told us to introduce ourselves to each other. " she replied.

I was relieved. I couldn't be late to my first day at work.

I talked to other people, and at the corner of my eyes i saw a guy.
I turned my head to see him.
Tall, broad shoulder, and my first thought of him was: charming.

He smiled to everybody, i smiled back, everyone else was too.

"Um, my name is Ross, Ross Butler." he introduced himself.
