You Deserved Better

The Start of Katrosserine Blangforter

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. It was 7 in the morning, the day after i had dinner with Ross' mom.

I turned the alarm off but instead of getting up, i reached for my phone and scrolled through my notifications.

Nothing too significant in the group chat, but i got a text from Ross saying he had a great time last night. I smiled.

I plugged in my phone charger and set the phone on my bedside. I got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

I had an interview later on today.
I was a little bummed out about the fact that i often did separate interview from the other casts, from Ross.

Because Dylan and i was the leading roles, we often got called to do interviews, just the two of us.

But it was actually okay, i liked promoting the film, i liked spreading the messages from this film.

I texted Ross, asking if he wanted to grab some breakfast together.
He replied almost instantly.

"just got up. Be there in 15."

I smiled at the thought of Ross waking up, his sleepy face and I was pretty sure his voice were heavier when he just woke up.

I didn't replied to him back. Instead, whilst waiting, i was searching for what outfit I was going to wear.

I picked out and all grey outfit and throw on my favorite wedges.
I waited in the living room and played a game on my phone. 3 minutes later there was a knock on the door.

I got up from the couch, put my phone and my wallet in my purse.
I walked towards the door with excitement.

When i opened the door, Ross was standing there with his red snapback on, and an all black outfit.

I showed him my biggest smile. He laugh a little.

"Why are you so happy?" he asked.

"Nothing, I'm just happy to see you!" i said in excitement.

He laughed, "You saw me last night!"

"Yeah well, anyway, good morning!" i said, still in excitement.

He pulled me tight to his arms, "Good morning to you too!" He smelled so good!
It was a quick hug, he pulled back and let go of me and was still staring at me and now he was the one with a wide smile on his face.

"Let's go," he said, "Let's just use my car."
I nodded, locked my apartment, and followed him to the elevator.

"Is your mom awake?" i asked him.

"No, she asked me to wake her up later because she was still feeling a little jet-lag." Ross answered.

The elevator door opened and we walked out side by side.

We reached his car. Ross walked quickly ahead of me to open my door.
He asked me where i wanted to eat where we're inside the car.

"There's a waffle house that's just open a few blocks from here, do you wanna try it?" i suggested.

"Okay," Ross shrugged.

The car started moving and he played some music.
We looked at each other and started singing along.

We laughed and giggled whilst we sang.
For a few moments i felt overjoyed.
I looked at him and had a few weird feeling in my stomach, it was such an exciting feeling.

The car started slowing down and we pulled over to the parking lot.
We got out of the car and walked inside.

A man greeted us and told us to sit wherever we wanted. Ross chose to sit by the window.

"Okaay, what are you ordering?" Ross asked as he sat down.

I looked at the menu and then to Ross, "Uh i think I'll have the chocolate chip waffle, you?"

Ross pursed his lips, he looked so handsome more than ever.

"Same. Do you want coffee or something else? Think I'm going to have coffee. " Ross said.

"Do they served cappuccino here?" i said, picking up the menu and read it again, "Yup, there it is. I'll have the cappuccino."

Ross nodded, he called for the waiter and started ordering.

We chatted and waited for a few minutes until the waiter brought us the foods.

I took a bite of the waffle and it tasted delicious.

"Hey can i asked you something?" i said.

Ross just nodded because his mouth was full.
I hesitated for a bit, i definitely didn't think this through.

"Um, so is there anything going on between you and uh.." i stopped. Ross stared at me waiting for me to finish my sentence.

"And uh.. Alisha?" i blurted it out.

Ross stopped chewing his food, and began to look confused.

"Why?" he asked.

My heart started beating faster, who was i to ask question like that?

"I don't know, it's just i saw a lot of pictures of you and Alisha, i don't know.. Like you put your arms around her shoulder, like uh.. You held her hand during an interview." I looked away from Ross so he wouldn't be able to analyze my expression.

Ross bursted into laughter. I looked at him flustered.

"Alisha and i were friends before we filmed this show. We were close friends and still are." he explained.

I got so embarrassed but tried to hide it.

"Oh yeah, i was just wondering." i said and started eating again, Ross did too.

And for the rest of the meal, we didn't talked again.
We just finished eating.
Ross called the waiter again, this time he was ordering a take away for his mom.

I reached for my wallet to pay but Ross took my hand and said, "No, the guy is the one who pay on a date."

What he just said took me by surprise, but i did felt really happy hearing it.

"So this is a date?" i smiled and stared at Ross.

He flustered, "if.. If you wanted it to?"

I giggled, "Yeah, yeah. This was a date! "

Ross looked relief and wide smile appeared on his face.

He paid the meal, received his take-away order and we went out to the car.

I got in and when Ross started the engine i said, "Hey i went out on a date with Ross Butler. Isn't that awesome?"

Ross laughed, "Not as awesome as the fact that i went out on a date with Katherine Langford!"

I blushed. He made me feel something i had never felt before.
