"Elena, are you almost ready?" My brother yelled from downstairs.
I wish he'd hush, it takes a woman time to get ready for school. I tucked my hair behind my ear and put a little chapstick on due to the cold weather outside.
"Coming!" I hollered, quickly skipping steps to get down the stairs. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a piece of toast off of my brother plate, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Elena." He groaned annoyingly, snatching his breakfast back. I laughed and put my own in the toaster.
"Good morning big brother. How'd you sleep? You seem like you're in a great mood today." I giggled and he rolled his eyes.
"Didn't sleep too good last night, worried about the big game tonight. Coach said scouts will be watching."
"Josh, you rock every game you play. Between you and Derek, you will win and probably shock the heck out of the scouts." I smiled, he grabbed me and gave me a hug.
"I love your positive attitude." He laughed. He was about 6 foot tall which made my 5'2 height look incredibly little.
Just as I was about to speak, a loud voice bellowed from the from door. "Evans family are you ready for a great Friday." Derek's conceited form walked through the kitchen and bro hugged Josh. Rolling my eyes, I grabbed my toast and water, threw my bag over my shoulder and walked towards to front door.
Derek Johnson was every girls dream guy. Tall, dark, and handsome. With his blue eyes, black hair, and tall body, the girls basically fainted at the sight of him, except me.
Now don't get me wrong, I use to have the biggest crush on him till about 7th grade. I mean, he was dreamy. We use to be buddies, until middle school when his whole demeanor changed. He became the jerkiest jerk ever. Made fun on me every second he could and tormented me in both school and at home.
I grew to hate his cruel and unkind gestures but still learned to love him in a different way.
He after all, did try to protect me like Josh.
After all of us loading into Josh's Jeep, we finally made it to high school.
My favorite place.
I walked through the doors and my eyes shifted to Cason, a very handsome guy on my brothers team, standing at my locker.
"Good morning!" I smiled, putting in my combination.
"Morning Elena." He grinned, and rubbed the back of his head nervously. Strange.
"What's on your mind?"
I was switching out some books for my morning classes and out of my peripheral vision, saw him gulp noticeably.
"Well, me and you have been friends for a while now, and I've been super nervous about asking you this but I wanted to at least try. So Johnny's party is tonight after the big game and I wanted to know if you'd go with me." He asked. I smiled, all his words were mumbled together, surely his nerves getting ahead of him. I glanced behind Cason, to Josh's locker and saw Derek and him staring at us.
Bringing my attention back to Cason, I finally spoke, worried about Josh finding out of this conversation. "I would love that Cason. But you do realize that I've never actually gone out with any guy because of my brother right?"
He glanced back at Josh and quickly turned back to me. "Yeah, but I was hoping since he'd be at the party, he wouldn't mind too much."
I laughed, "Pick me up at 11, I have to go home and change after the game. I'll talk to him." He smiled relieved and nodded. Then placed a swift kiss to my cheek and walked away. The boys instantly straightened up and walked my way.
