I woke up for school today with a newfound happiness brewing deep inside me.
I was secretly seeing my brothers best friend.
Actually, I was secretly dating my brothers best friend. There was a difference.
Today would be the first day at school since me and Derek had our heart to heart, also the first day I would see Cason since the fight.
I cared deeply for Derek, so deeply that it scared me sometimes. I know that he said he loved me and I want to believe him with my whole heart but doubt was flooding through me.
He was so experienced with women, I didn't want to be another quest of his.
"Elena! Come one Dereks here!" Josh yelled from the bottom of the stairs as I scattered to grab my bag and phone. I looked at myself once more in the mirror, feeling good about myself today.
I wore a mustard yellow skirt with a Black sleeveless top. I thought I looked so good, but I'm sure my brother was going to lose his top when he saw me.
I waited until I heard him slam the front door before I glided down the stairs and out it myself, locking it behind me.
I quickly hopped in the back seat and bucked up, only to meet both Derek and Josh looking at me with the mouths ajar.
Josh's face held a look of anger but Dereks eyes were dark as he let them trail down my body.
"What?" I asked, pulling my bag in my lap.
"No, go change." Josh ordered from the passenger seat.
"No Josh, I like this outfit." I huffed crossing my arms over my chest.
"You look like a" he started but I cut him off.
"I look like a what Josh?" I asked, wishing for once I could be an adult and dress cute like the other girls at school.
"You look like a hoe Elena, go change." As soon as the word left his mouth Dereks head turned towards him real quick.
"Bro that's not cool. Don't call her that." Derek defended and Josh laughed.
"Calm down dude, she's my sister I can call her whatever I want." He argued back, almost tempting Derek to pop back.
"She doesn't look like a hoe Josh, she's the farthest thing from a hoe and you know it. I think she looks nice." He stated, giving me a small smile through the Rearview mirror while backing out of our driveway.
"WE know she's not a hoe, but as soon as guys look at her dressed like that they'll think shes easy to get with and I don't really feel like beating the hell out of a bunch of hormonal douches today!"
"I'll walk with her bro, I'll take her to her classes and stuff, let her be a normal teen for today." He told him and Josh huffed before mumbling whatever under his breath.
The rest of the ride was between Josh complaining about class and Derek mumbling that he hated it too. He was halfway in the conversation and halfway out but his eyes kept drifting back to me through the mirror.
I smirked and looked out the window, feeling sexy in new and improved ways.
Once we pulled up the school, I grabbed my bag and waited as the boys got out of the car for me to get out.
Derek was on one side of me and Josh was on the other, which I had become very accustomed to over the years.
"I'm sorry I said you look like a hoe, you look beautiful. Very grown and matured but beautiful." Josh apologized and threw his arm over my shoulder, attempting to ruffle my hair in the process.
