The Lighthouse

Early the next morning I woke up threw on some old mom jeans on and a T-shirt and quietly crept through my room window so I wouldn't wake my mom. I started skating to the pier only a half a mile from our house. It was still pitch black outside. Once I got to the pier I started walking down it to the nearest bench with my skateboard in my arm. I was waiting for the sunrise. I sat down and watched the waves roll in slowly and then crash aggressively. I could feel the breeze run through my hair and brush across my face. I felt...free. I concentrated on the waves for a while. Until a noise broke my concentration. I turned to the right and saw three boys my age stepping onto the pier and heading in my direction.

One of them had pale skin and wavy blonde hair covered by a maroon beanie. The one to the right of him had light skin and short light brown hair. The last one had darker skin with short dark brown hair. All of them were wearing backpacks.

They were holding something in their hands but I couldn't tell what it was. It looked like a big piece of paper. I noticed they didn't know I was there. I quickly hid behind the bench and watched them walk to the lighthouse at the end of the pier. They opened the door and walked inside. The light skinned boy with light brown hair checked to see if anyone saw them. Then he slowly closed the door but left it slightly opened.

I steadily crept over to the lighthouse and as quietly as I could opened the door and walked inside and up the stairs. Surprisingly, this was a very large lighthouse. Once I reached the top, there was a closed door. I opened the door just enough so that I could see them but they couldn't see me. They were doing something. I don't know what. They were sitting at a circled table with the piece of paper that was in their hands earlier on the table.

I wanted to know what it was. I just kept watching them not realizing I was leaning on the door. The door quickly opened and I almost fell forward but I caught myself before I did. But I was now standing in the room and the boys were looking straight at me. After we stared at each other for a good 5 seconds, the dark skinned boy grabbed my wrist and swung me onto the empty chair while the light brown haired boy shut the door and locked it. The blonde haired boy and dark skinned boy sat in the other two chairs staring at me for a bit while the light skinned boy with light brown hair stood and did the same. I decided to brake the ice.
