Big Time Stalker Part 8

I eat my burger still not to sure what to make of all the rushing around and tension all over. I decide not to give it another thought but enjoy my meal. Its not long before Joe comes in. He walks over to the bed and sits next to me taking my hand, "You will be glad to know we found a nice but inexpensive car right up the street."

I laugh, "Okay well I guess when I get out of here in the morning we will go down and pay for it. I hope it makes you as happy as you make me."

Joe is staring into my eyes and just as he goes to say something the door opens. He strokes my cheek paying no attention to who just came in and says, "I think I'm falling in love all over again." and lightly kisses me on the cheek.

I laugh, "What do you mean all over again?"

Kendall clears his throat and Joe quickly changes the subject, "So when do you think you will be ready to go home?"

I smile up at him, "They said I could go home in the morning."

He takes my hand and says, "No I mean home with me."

Kendall speaks up from behind him, "Lets not push it. She needs to get better before we worry about her going home with YOU." 

I noticed a hint of sarcasm in Kendall's voice but didn't let it bother me. He has been kind of strange since I woke up so that may be just the way he is. I can't seem to remember him so I really have no way to judge. 

Joe snaps at him, "You need to watch it. You won't stop me from taking my fiance home." He says in a stern tone.

Kendall mutters under his breath, "Watch me." and turns storming out of the room.

Joe and I start to talk about old times when Carlos comes in, "Hey Joe. Can you give us a minute?"

Joe kisses me on the lips very passionately and says, "I won't be far sweetheart. You get better so I can take you home. I miss you." and leaves.

Carlos is fussing over me like a mother with a new baby. I finally laugh and say, "I don't need anything Carlos. Maybe some rest is all. I'm a little worn out for some reason."

He smiles and kisses me on top of my head and leaves. I lay there and fall asleep. 

I wake up to the feeling of someone holding my hands and when I open my eyes I see Kendall on one side and Logan on the other. I gently take my hands away from them and ask, "What are you guys doing here? Where is Joe?"

Almost on cue Sally comes rushing in the door. She is white as a sheet and I ask, "Sally what's wrong?"

She starts to cry, "(yn) Joe was just admitted to the hospital. He is right down the hall."

I sit straight up in the bed, "What happened? Is he going to be okay?"

She stands there for a second and says, "He should be fine but he is hurt pretty badly."

I ask again, "What happened?"

She slumps down in a chair next to the bed, "We were walking out to the car and..." her voice trails off and I see her look at Kendall and then at Logan who both give her a knowing nod and she continues, "We were walking to the car and someone mugged him. They took everything he had on him and left him for dead."
