A year has gone by since Hunter took his test. He wonders when it will arrive. He isn't happy to go to Jands for two reasons. One is that he didn't have a choice in this and he is starting to love Kaylee. He doesn't want to leave her. On January 15, 2035, his came in the mail and said:
Dear Hunter Kirkuk, January 15, 2035
We are pleased to announce that you passed your test and have been accepted to Jands. The results show that you are Hypno. You have the gift of all the other gifts. It is extremely rare. We expect you to come to the school no later than February 15. That gives you one month to prepare to leave your old life and begin your new one. I wish you good luck as you journey on to Jands. Remember this school will take you ten years for you to complete. Because of your gift.

"Oh." Is all that Marinda had to say. "John, can you please talk to me in the kitchen?" Miranda asked her husband from the living room. John was in the basement doing laundry. "I will be right up!" John replied. They meet in the kitchen and John is worried about the distressful look on her face. "What's the worried look on your face?" John asked Miranda. "Look at the letter," Miranda told John. John reads the letter confused. "How is this possible?" John asked. "I don't know but we both know it isn't good. We can't let him go." Miranda demanded. "You we can't do that. Jands won't let us and Hunter will start to wonder why we don't want him to go all of a sudden." John explained.
John and Miranda realize that they must let their son go to Jands. In the following years, while Hunter is gone, his parents pretend that he was murdered. And don't talk about him.
