Denis' P.O.V.

"No, this is my lab partner, Denis. We're just working together on an assignment."

Ouch.

I glanced over at her sadly. Not even a friend, just a lab partner. Yeah, it hurt. She didn't like me. I understand why, though. It's because of my 'player attitude' as she calls it. Which is true, except for the fact that she's the only girl I've wanted since we met.

(Flashback to when they met.)

"So, Denis, this is my friend, Emily. Emily, this is Denis." My friend, Ben, introduced. She smiled warmly.

"Hi! It's nice to meet you." She greeted. Her voice was so sweet, and her eyes practically sparkled. My friend chuckled and elbowed me, before I replied.

"Oh- Hey, i'm Denis." I smiled, nodding my head. Something hit me when I saw her, but I didn't know what it was. My heart fluttered, when she smiled, and I felt it beat faster when she talked.

"Oh, an accent! Where are you from?" She asked, curious. She seemed excited about it. Granted, my Ukrainian accent wasn't one you heard a lot.

"I'm from Ukraine." I answered. We started talking about Ukraine and again, I couldn't help but feel a lot happier with her. Why was it like that?

"Ack, I gotta go." She murmured, glancing at her phone. "I got to make dinner for Sam." She sighed, grabbing her things.

"It was nice seeing you again, Ben. Nice meeting you, Denis." Another smile. Another heart flutter.

"See you around, Em." Ben replied, giving her a hug.

"Bye!" With that, she turned and left the food court. I heard Ben snicker beside me.

"You like her."

(Back to Reality)

The flashback hit me, making me frown. That was back before she found out I was a player.

I was taken out of my thoughts when Mr. Stevens started talking. "Well, hello Denis. What are you two working on?" He asked, shaking my hand. I looked up to meet his eyes, and replied.

"We're working on an assignment about the moon." He didn't seem that impressed, but her mom spoke up before he could talk.

"Who's ready for dinner?" She asked. Emily excitedly nodded, and I smiled. I always found it cute when she would be excited over something.

"I am!" She spoke, and I added, "So am I."

Emily's P.O.V.

I yawned, closing my notebook. Denis looked over at me. "How are you tired this early?" He asked, chuckling.

"It's 9:03 pm, why should I not be tired?" I asked, looking over him, raising my eyebrow. I usually go to sleep at this time, so of course I was tired.

Denis smirked. "You've never been up past 9?" He asked, and I shook my head. "Well, tonight, we're going to change that." He grinned, before turning and digging into his backpack.

Furrowing my eyebrows on confusion, I watched as he pulled out two soda cans. My eyes widened, and he quickly stated. "Oh my god, relax. I may be a party dude, but I didn't put drugs in it!"

I laughed at his quick defense, before taking one. I opened it up. "Wait, how long are you staying then?" I asked, curious. He shrugged. "My parents don't really care how long I stay." He answered, opening the soda and taking a drink.

I nodded, glancing back at my notebooks, tiredly grabbing one.

Denis' P.O.V

I was writing something into my notebook before I heard a small snore. Confused, I glanced over at Emily, before chuckling.

She fell asleep reading her book. I reached over and slowly took the book from under her hands, careful not to wake her. I picked up my book and put on the floor with hers. Gathering my supplies together, I glanced back her, my attention being caught by her phone.

I looked at it for a few seconds, before an idea came to mind. I grabbed it, turning it on, to see she left it unlocked. After getting in, I went to her messanger app and put my number in, before leaving a message.
