I woke to the annoying buzzing of my alarm clock. Yay! (note the sarcasm) first day back at school. I already know what this means an even bitchier Stella. I really hole by some miracle that Stella either moves away or leaves me alone. You and I both know that that is not going to happen.
I made my way to the bathroom and took the longest shower ever. Mostly cause that's where I do all of my thinking. I stepped out of the shower and checked the time. 8:40 am!! school started in twenty minutes and I was still wearing my towel. I brushed out my hair which wasn't that easy because of its length and quickly brushed my teeth. I checked the time again and noticed I had 10 minutes left. I pulled on my clothes and quickly grabbed my keys and a granola bar.
"bye mom ill see you later" I called
"Bye Alex" my mother called
I didn't have time to hear what she was saying because i only had 5 minutes left. I ran to my car and drove down the bumpy path to school. I heard the first bell and instantly knew I was late. Great Alex your first day back and you're already late. I made a mental note to reset my alarm and quickly ran through the front doors not looking where I was going. I ran full force right into a stone hard chest.
"Omg. I'm so so sorry I wasn't looking" I said slowly looking up. Oh shit. It was jay. One of the most popular kids at our school. Not to mention Stella's boyfriend.
"No kidding nerd. Watch where you're going next time" he smirked and walked out of school.
"Jerk" I muttered. I quickly found my schedule and made my way to first period. My day was just going to get worse i just knew it.
***********
The day went past in a blur and it was already time for lunch. I walked into the cafeteria and noticed my best friend since I could remember sitting at our usual table since ninth grade.
"Hay girl. hay" she called
I laughed she always greeted me like that everyday it was a mystery why I liked it.
"Hey to you too kary"
"Haha so how have you been"
"Great so far you"
"Best summer but you already know"
In fact I knew everything Kary did over the summer and she knew everything I did.
"So Alex there's this new milkshake shop by the school wanna go?"
"Yea sure" I replied.
We walked down the street talking about everything jay and Stella's relationship, our lives, college, and lots of other gossip until we reached the shop.
"Ill have a chocolate shake" Kary told the woman.
"And what can I get you?" she asked
"Strawberry shake is fine," I replied
As we made our way to the cafeteria, I saw the one person I never wanted to see: the queen bitch of Brent wood high, Stella Evans.
"Kary there she is," I whispered to her. "ugh"
"I know I see." she replied
"We have to walk past her to get to our table" I said
"No shit Sherlock." Sarcasm very evident in her voice.
"Lets go we can do it like we barely even know who she is" I said. We started walking towards the table and luckily Stella hadn't noticed us walk past her. She smelled of way too much perfume.
"We did it!" I said to Kary as we say at our table.
"Yea alive." she said with a grin
I turned around to check where Stella was only to be greeted with a pair of green eyes staring right at me. I looked up to see jay Collins staring at me. We made eye contact and i couldn't stop looking until he smirked. Jerk. I quickly turned away and felt my cheeks flaming. Luckily I was half black and half white so the blush really didn't show. Sometimes I wished I was fully black. I quickly got up and threw my stuff away in the trash and made my way out of the cafeteria to my next period.
************
Last period was the worst. Both jay and Stella were in that class. To be honest I don't really like jay it's only his good looks that push me off guard. Stellas only goal was to make my life hell. And jay just watched it happen. Jay had an older brother who worked with Stella to pull all these pranks on me in the 4th &5th grade. But he got sent to a different school because of his bad behavior. He lives somewhere far from here and he hasn't visited ever.
"Oh my gosh is it really you Alex!" that voice sounded familiar. I looked up to see it. Stella
"Yea" I said narrowing my eyes
"Nice to see you've settled down with you're nerd clothing" she sneered. The whole class burst out in laughter.
"It's not nice to see that your bitchy attitude hasn't settled down" I retorted.
"You" she hissed
"Me what about me" I said
"I have a surprise for you later. It's so so nice" she said.
"Yuck no thanks" I said
"Oh you'll see" she whispered
"Just drop it Stella" I said
"Whatever" she waved her hand. Her and her little "clones" as I like to call then follows behind her.
"That went well." I muttered to myself.
Class ended without another word from Stella and I was glad. I made my way to the lockers and quickly and grabbed my bag. This year was going to be hell. I knew it.
