"Holy crap. Jay what happened?" I asked in a hushed whisper, covering my mouth.
He continued smiling. "Nothing." He shrugged his shoulder and winced.
"It's obviously something. Sit down ill get some ice." I told him.
I grabbed the ice from the freezer and walked towards the comforter he was sitting on and handed him the ice.
"Thanks." He muttered.
"Are you going to tell me what happened?"
"No not really." He said. "Don't feel like it."
I rolled my eyes. "Come on we're friends right?" I said nudging his shoulder.
"Yeah we're friends. But I don't have to tell you." He said. Shrugging again. I hated when he did this.
"Fine it's whatever. I'm going to bed." I said. "Goodnight." I went up the stairs before he could say anything else and sat in my bed. How did this even happen? I thought. I'm talking to two of the popularest guys at school. Never in a million years would i have imagined this. Ever.
I thought I was we'll enough to take my boot off so I could now walk properly but it still kinda hurt. Thursday was always pop quiz day in math so I had to prepare myself for that. I grabbed my phone and texted Darren to drop me off at my house so I could get my car. I missed it so so much.
"Hey you need a ride?" jay called.
"No Darren is taking me to my house to get my car." I called back.
"Oh ok."
I still hadn't heard from Kary. I hoped she would be at school today. She was kind of scaring me.
"Hey Alex, whatever his name is, is here to pick you up" jay called.
"Ok. And his name is Darren doofus."
"Yea well he's here." I quickly grabbed my stuff and ran down the steps.
"Someone's happy. Oh and look no boot today. I'm glad." Darren said pulling me in for a hug.
"Yeah me too now let's go I need my car asap."
We drove listening to out favorite songs as little kids. Darren absolutely adored milkshake while mine was lipgloss. I know we were so ghetto. Well I was at least. When we arrived at my house I opened up the garage and hopped into my car. I started it up and sighed at the sound. Oh how I missed you.
Me and Darren raced to school and he, like always, beat me. But it was still fun.
"Beat you for like the thousandth time. Lex, you need to start driving more." He teased.
"Oh shut up. Ill see you after school, yeah?"
"Yup." He gave me a thumbs up. "Now get to class 'fore your late."
I ran into language arts and found that the teacher wants even in the class room. But Stella and some other students were. This meant serious trouble.
"Hey bitch." She called. "Your looking uglier today." She smirked.
I ignored her and walked to my seat.
"Why so silent all of a sudden huh? none of your boys here to protect you." She laughed.
"I don't need them Stella." I said "I just don't have time for your crap today." I said shrugging my shoulders.
She laughed. The most annoying laugh must I tell you. "Your words don't affect me."
"Sure. Keep telling yourself that." Then the our la teacher walked in ending the conversation.
