Chapter 4 : An Hour

I was in the living room with the whole Lin family. Accros me was the Lin Yanjun, on my left there is aunty Mei. And Lin Yanjun's father was also there.

We were all sitting inside the living room.

"Say Yuexue, how's your grade doing in school?" Aunty Mei suddenly asked, making me tremble on my seat. "your father said your very good at english."

"Not really. That was actually because I used to live outside so I got used to speaking English. But Lin Yanjun here is pretty good at everything, including English." I said. Cuz it's true. He's no.1 in school and me... well because my English saved me I'm 100-ish.

"Ah really? I don't think he's very good at English." Yanjun's mom said, while looking at her son. "AH! Then maybe you and Yanjun should live outside for awhile to build his English pronunciation." His mom said excitedly. I heard a soft scoff coming out from Yanjun's mouth.

"Yuexue, what kind of sport do you like?" Yanjun's father asked after he stopped talking with dad.

"Well I can learn any kind of sport that contains no balls." Yeah I can't play with basketball or soccer or tennis and volley and such. But I can actually play with the real deal balls. *smirks*

"Then we should go rock climbing? What do you think I'm going on this Saturday? You can come right Yuexue?" Uncle Mubo asked.

"I would really love to, but I actually have ice-skating practice on Saturday night. I'm really sorry." I said, because I disappoint them on my first day.

"Then it's settled we're going on Sunday and we all are free! I hope you're not too tired Yuexue." Yanjun's mom asked me worriedly, and then I replied with a very enthusiastic nod. 

"I'm sorry, I know it's really bothersome for my daughter to live here." Dad said, and I was nodding in agreement.

"Don't worry about it. As long as everyone is happy. It's our pleasure." Yanjun's father said.

Then a young boy came down from the stair. Ah.. this is Yanjun's little brother?

"Yanchen, come greet this uncle and sister." His mother said.

"Nǐ hǎo shūshu, wǒ jiào línyànchén (hello uncle, my name is Lin Yanchen)" he said.

"How about this Jiějiě?? You're not going to say hi to her." Then I waved at him.

"Gēgē can you please help me with my English?" This kid, he completely ignored me. Something tells me I'm going to be good friends with him.

"Why don't you ask this Jiejie she's really good at english." Aunt meimei said.

"I don't trust her. She looks dumb." He said so bluntly then he got a slap on the back of his neck by his mother. There it is! I've been sending imaginary punch at him. 

"Don't speak to an older sister like that!" Aunty then started telling him off.

"Ya! Lin Yanchen! Show respect will you, her father is here don't you think he'll get mad at you?" Uncle said while gesturing his hand to my father.

"Not at all, he's still a kid afterall."

"Then how do you do this question?" He then shoves his book.

Then I read it. It's about time... good, this is so basic 😊 "ah, this is about time. Let's see. Because the clock is showing Wǎnshàng 9 diǎn and 9 is nine. So it's nine o'clock at night. There."
