Knock! Knock! Knock!

You pull your hand down, waiting for a response. It doesn't come, so you gently open the door and peek your head through.

She was sitting in her bed. Alone. She must feel awful after that business with Buff Frog. You wished you could have been there to say good bye, and to be there to comfort her, yet you had to let Tom have her time with Star.

The room looked empty, all the windows were shut. The only light coming in was from the open balcony. The rest of the room looked dim.

You push the door a little bit too much, and it creaks, drawing her attention. You bite back a curse, she might not be in the mood to talk right now, but you just had to.

"Hey there-- Star." You lightly wave at her and a small wavering smile is what she gives you.

"Come in Marco." She replies, her voice bland and emotionless, which was completely opposite to her true, upbeat personality. You stood up, walked to her side and sat down, caressing her back.

You'd seen Star like this before, back on Earth when she was having trouble with Oskar not talking to her. You remember how depressed she was when the boy with the key tar refused to text him back. It seemed so simple back then.

Now she has a real issue on her hands, you had no idea what could have be going through her head.

The most troubling issue was that... Eclipsa incident. The fact that her family was never truly of royal blood, that the only thing that was ever really magical about her family was the wand, the rest was irrelevant, she was nobody, her family was nobody.

She leans her head on your shoulder, you look at her, tears threatening to fall. Even when she's about to cry she looks like a billion dollars.

"Can I know what's going on?" You ask, wrapping your arm around her neck, she sniffs, goes down, and wraps her arms around your waist, pulling herself closer to you. Under normal circumstances you'd freak out, but somehow you still feel comfortable.

"You don't have to tell me, you kn-"

"No." She says firmly, burying her face into the side of your shirt.

"Uhm, was that a 'No, I'm not gonna tell you', or a 'No, don't say that', kind of no?"

You feel her chuckle a little, she sits back up, her face was messed up a little bit, but she still looked perfect to you.

"It's just that-- How could the Royal High Commission lie to my entire family just like that?" She wavers, you place your hand on hers reassuring her, she proceeds, "My entire royal life has been a lie. I don't deserve to own this wand." She pulls it out from behind her. Passing it with one hand to the other.

"Hey, don't say th--"

"How can I be Princess when the only thing that makes me royal is this stupid wand?!" She looks at you, tears flooding down her eyes, "I'm just like everyone else Marco!"

"Star don't say that please. You're only hurting yourself."

She sobs miserably, gripping the handle of her wand fiercely. She grabs the wand with both hands, you're afraid she might snap it in two. But she doesn't. She throws the wand halfway across the entire room, she sobs one more time, her arms go slack and she falls into your arms.

"I'm no princess..." She mutters, before going silent.

You grab her, wiping away the tears in her cheeks, stroking her hair to try and calm her down.

It takes her a while to calm down, when she does, she sits up, her eyes full of sadness.

"Look Star, I get why you're mad." You reach out to cup her face, and instantly regret it. Star keeps her head down, but you can see the her cheeks flush red in embarresment. You slowly pull your hand down and sigh.

You suddenly feel Star pull your hand to hold her face, you feel your own face burn red. The touch of her skin on yours sent shivers down your spine.

"Star, you're blaming yourself. None of this is your fault." She holds your hand and leans onto your had. Her deep enigmatic eyes stare straight into you.

"As far as i'm concerned, you are a princess."

"Didn't you listen? I'm not even a real Butterfly."

"That doesn't make you any less than the person you are." You hold her face firm, wiping away her tears with your thumb. She sniffs, waiting for you to say something.

"Look Star, you are amazing. With or without the wand. And you know that. Don't hurt yourself saying that you aren't amazing, because you are. You are a Butterfly. You are a princess."

She stares into your eyes in silence. As if you had the answers to all her problems.

"And there's nothing the Royal High Commission can do about that."

She smiles reassuringly, and you knew then and there she would be alright. You feel a smile come from your lips as well.

"Thank you Marco." She locks you in a tight hug, you hug back, slowly you feel her come back to her old self. "Thank you..."

You both stay in each other's embrace for a while. Then you both pull out, staring into each other's again. Your brain tells you to leave the room, but your heart says to stay.

Star moves forward, the distance between your lips and hers shrinks inch by inch.

As if on purpose, you move your face closer to hers as well. You close your eyes, while your brain is buzzing around, jumping all over the place.

Your lips touch, fireworks explode in your head. The feeling of her soft lips in yours makes you melt all over again. You feel her hands wrap around the back of your neck, pulling herself closer. You feel her smile through the kiss, the kiss you had shared in the booth was nothing compared to this kiss. Here you had no regrets, you felt nothing but love. Love for Star, your princess.

It may have felt like like hours, but you both pulled away quickly. Looking at one another thinking one of you would tell the other what you both just did.

"I-I..." You stand up, both of your faces burning wildly, "I'll go do some... Squire... Stuffs--"

Star stands up as well, completely flustered, "Y-Yeah, I have to do... Princess-y things..."

You two stand there like idiots for a few seconds until Star pushes you out the door while saying, "Now Now Marco you should get going o-on those things!"

She pushes you out the door and slams it shut, you giggle uncontrollably and lean against the door, silently whooping your fists in the air.

You hear Star giggling through the door as well while her hands were around her mouth.

You knew that no matter what happens, she was gonna be alright. And so were you.

The End.
