"It's the first day of your junior year, and you four are already stirring up trouble within the hallways." Principal Adams furiously states, his elbows resting on top of the desk, his hands joined together as he stares at Ryan, Logan, Luke and I.
"You aren't even giving us a chance to tell you what happened." Luke states, anger causing his voice to come out rough. I place my hand on his elbow since Ryan took up the seat but I don't mind. This way I can be closer to Luke.
"What I heard is that gang violence was going to escalate if I wouldn't have stepped in and stopped what you caused." Adams states, pinching the bridge of his nose with his fingers.
I let out a scoff because of course he would be taking and believing the side of Thomas due to his spectacular ability to throw a ball on a field and win some games.
"Miss Hawkins would you like to add anything?" Adams states, and Luke looks down at me. His eyebrow arching, as if he's telling me just to be quiet. I know he doesn't want me getting in any trouble but I can have my... whatever he is suspended.
"If you would listen to everybody, you would realize Thomas was insulting us due to where we live and who we associate ourselves with. He even called me a whore, but the school honor code is 'Everybody Is Welcomed and Treated Equally'. Yet, you aren't even giving us the treatment you would Thomas or any other person who isn't a Raven." I state, I know I'm pushing my luck but it needs be spoken.
Adams sits there staring at me as if he's debating something. His eyes flicker to the boy standing next to me then to the blue haired girl, then to her boyfriend. He sighs pushing his glasses up higher.
"Fine. I'll leave you four on the warning. I don't want to be bothered by it. But Lucas, if this happens again. I won't hesitate on suspending you." Adams states, before raising his hand in a dismissing manner.
I'm the first to exit the office, with Luke following behind me and then Ryan and Logan. I feel a hand wrapping around my wrist, and I turn around seeing it's Logan standing there. Luke has his arms crossed in front of his chest, as he stares at me.
"Thanks for backing us up Mia." Logan says, "I know you aren't really in the Ravens, your brother is, so you didn't have to associate yourself with us but it means a lot. Why haven't you joined along side with your brother?" Logan asks me and instantly Luke is pushing at Logan's chest.
"You aren't being serious, you aren't asking her to join the Ravens when being friends with us without being in the circle is bad enough." Luke says, frowning at his best friend. Ryan runs fingers through her hair sighing.
"Luke has a point babe. Mia already has a hard life and adding her into the Ravens would only complicate it more." Ryan states softly, but I don't say anything. Luke turns around wrapping his hand around mine leading me away from the other couple.
We are both silent, as we head to our class we share. His hand is larger than mine, and it feels warm in mine. His hand is a little clammy but I don't care. He makes me feel protected, and warm.
"You didn't have to do that for me Mia. I appreciate it though." Luke says softly, stopping us right outside the classroom. I look up at him, him being about a good seven inches taller than me.
"I would do anything for you Luke." I state honestly, my hand which isn't in his rubbing his jaw before I lean up on my toes pressing a soft kiss to his cheek letting my lips linger there before pulling away.
Luke offers me his charming smile, before cupping my face as his mouth molds against mine in a deeper and passionate kiss than earlier today.
