Chapter 1: A New Companion

The most popular guy in school whom every girl swoon over, only like him for his attractiveness, that is the sad truth about Joshua.
Joshua's POV
"Ugh,"you sigh relentlessly "I wish there was actually some I could do these days, it's the just same old thing every day, I go to school, I go back home only to wake up again to go to school again,"you say rolling your eyes. The whole week long it has been like this sitting around doing nothing. "Ok, I can't stand this anymore,"you say as you stand up to go see your friend to see if there is anything she could do about this situation.

"Joshi!" she squeals hugging you tightly as soon as she opened the door of her apartment." Hasn't it been such a long time since we've seen each other and speaking about that don't you have a girlfriend now that I'm not around?,"says your childhood friend Kai with a smirk as she encloses you against the wall."Now that I'm gone they have a better chance of getting close to you now don't they?" she whispers in your ear. "U-um...no," you say trying to push her off. Her smirk fades from her face and turns into a smile,"oh I'm just kidding she says elbowing you in the shoulder."Ok but, I'm being serious you still don't have a girlfriend!?" she says in astonishment. " I understood why they didn't want to be near you was because I scared them off like a bunch of scaredy-cats but, now that I'm gone they've probably approached you right?" "Yeah but I don't think ready for a girlfriend," you say."But anyways that isn't the reason I came to talk to you," you say. "If that's not it then what do you want?"It's just I don't know what I should do anymore, " you say." if you don't know then why don't you just get a pet?" "You know, that is actually a good idea...maybe it's one of the best ideas you've ever had!" you say happily." how rude!" she said."Oh come on let's go,"you say as tug on her hand dragging her outside to the animal store.

As we both enter, I walk straight to the dog section, already made my mind up on what type pet I wanted. When I went in, there was a huge mob of dogs surrounding one dog in the middle."Huh that' weird...,"you say in a whisper but, soon as all the dogs saw you they started scattering away leaving one beautiful brown border collie. As you approached it, it made no signs of movement and it kept its eyes on yours. When you stood in front of it, it stared so deeply into your eyes like it was trying to see through your mind, like it was trying to understand you. That's when you decided this dog was going to be the pet you will cherish and take care of forever.
"Have you picked the pet you wanted?"Kai said back from the bathroom, looking down at the brown dog sitting on the floor in front of you. "Yeah, this one." "Hello do Y'all need any help?"says a worker passing by. "Oh we're just picking out a pet, " you say. "Lets see which will be the lucky pet to go home with a new owner,"said the worker with a chirpy voice and a smile. "This brown border collie right here is the one we want," Kai said.And when those words left Kai's mouth the smile faded off the worker's face and was replaced by a worrisome look. "U-h..are you sure you want this specific dog?"the worker says. "Umm yeah,why what's wrong with it?"you say. "It's just that this one has a slight abnormality"says the worker laughing nervously, "but it's nothing"she says,forgetting how weirdly she acted when we told her we wanted the dog. And slightly irritated I might say you got the dog and named her Sun-hi. "Oof look what time It's already, I need to go see ya, Joshi," Kai said. "And I'm sorry I haven't been able to hang out with you lately since I got into the prestigious academy" Kai added as she skipped away. "Oh and one more thing"she said turning around. "Remember to get yourself a girlfriend!" She squealed And left. You couldn't help but feel happy at that moment,you felt that today was a start of something new.
