I watched closely as my prey trembled with his gun in his hand. I ran so fast around around him that I was nothing but a blur to the human eye. My feet came to a stop right behind him. He turned around, his eyes wide as could be. What he saw was a beautiful teenage girl, with very pretty pink contacts. But everyone knows that looks can be deceiving.

"Shoot girl. You just about give me a heart attack." It took everything in my power not to laugh at his thick country accent. He's obviously hunting, as he was dressed in camouflage. I didn't say anything else, I just let my eyes do the work.

I'm not your average teenage girl. I'm a vampire, with special powers. My whole family is made up of vampires. We all have certain powers that can be determined by our eye color. Mine are pink. They mostly control lust and love, but the element they stand for is fire. The whole thing about vampires being killed by fire and garlic or whatever is completely not true. If anything fire makes me stronger. The only thing that can kill me is a stake. That part is true.

"What's your name?" I asked in the most seductive way I could manage.

"Judd. And what's your name pretty lady?"

"Essence." I gently touched his arm which sent him into a frenzy. I felt something poking at my thigh, and I didn't need to look down to know what it was.

"B-beautiful name." The grip on his gun loosened and it fell to the ground.

"Can I kiss you?" He nodded quickly and pursed his lips out, eyes closed. Instead of sinking my teeth into his neck I decided to have a little fun with him and brushed my lips against his. Being so close to his blood was driving me crazy. I could already smell it as it pulsed under my touch. I pressed my lips to his again and left little butterfly kisses down his neck until I found the perfect vein. I could feel my fangs begin to come out, hidden behind my human canines. They pushes through and planted firmly into the vein with ease.

The young hunter let out an ear-piercing scream. I almost felt bad for him, but his blood was so good. A mixture of sweet and saltiness. He eventually stopped yelling and let me feed off of him. He closed his eyes and I knew that he was paralyzed. It was the venom that did it. Finally the burn in my throat was soothed an I removed my fangs from his neck and he fell to the ground. I studied him a bit and notices how cute he was. He had to be in his early twenties, fresh out of college. He stared back at me, trying to figure out what was happening. It wouldn't take long for him to die, and I started to feel bad. He had his whole life ahead of him, and I had taken it way because I let my thirst take over.

I hadn't had a drink in a while, and the burn in my throat had gotten to strong to bear. My family is trying to tame me, meaning they are trying to get me to stay on a diet of animal blood. But it's bitter and with humans, you have a variety of tastes, it all depends on what they eat. This hunter in particular had fried chicken and some other delicious things that I can't even begin to describe. I sighed loudly and began to walk away only to be stopped by the faintest murmur.

"Please. Please." I turned around to face the farmer, just minutes away from certain death. "M-my daughter." His eyes looked across from where we were. I followed his gaze, and there peeking out from behind a tree was a little girl with long

and curly blond hair. Crap.

"Is this your daddy?" I said pointing to the man laying on the ground. Tears began to form in the brim of her eyes. She nodded yes.

I looked down at Judd again and sighed loudly.

"I'm so getting grounded for this." I scooped the man up and swung his daughter around my shoulders.
