Chapter Six

He held my gaze with such intensity, the wind moving past us with a strong pace.

He got his stance ready while hopped left and right. I found it funny but I didn't laugh since I had to be serious now. I had to be serious about this.

Me on the other hand I laid both of my hands on my knees bending it slightly. I waited for him to attack but he was still on his feet.

In a millisecond he started running to the right in a lightning speed. I tried to catch him but my feet were holding me down. I didn't even got to him.

I was confused. What was holding me down? I was arching my brow so high then Evo suddenly pushed it down. I stepped backed from the small proximity of space we had.

"Are you asking yourself why you couldn't catch me even though you used your vampire speed? Why your feet were holding you down?" I nodded.

He was circling around me which caused me to follow him. "Your hands were on your knees. You were relaxed. Of course your weight isn't on your upped body anymore. You were depending your upper body on your knees causing your weight moving to your feet." Wow. He was right. I did put my weight down. "Okay? So do you get the logic of it?" I nodded.

"So what I need to do is still keep my stance with my knees bent yet my hands should be on a stance mode too?" I stated it like it was a question since I was not sure I was right or wrong.

"Yes." His voice was inviting and soothing. It made me more energized.

Again he took his stance while I took my mine too. Thinking of what he said I bent my knees swaying left to right my left elbow pointing forward while my right fist was pointing forward too.

He took a run for it. I ran after him in full speed and I was able to catch up with him. I bumped onto him with a hard bump but when he turned around I was grinning.

I couldn't help but see his lips tug upward but he continued his 'my walls are up' face.

"Thanks for smiling," I murmured. I thought he couldn't hear me but his voice made me turn around and stare at him.

"No. Thank You." He lopsided-grinned. His smile made my day.

His sparkly white teeth sparkling even though it was already dark. His eyes smiling and his dimples showing.

I just can't believe I made a cold hearted vampire smile. He even thanked me. Well that's Evo for you.

Then again he's back to his cold face and stone-like emotion. "Again." He ordered.

We trained for hours and stopped because we suddenly realized that the sun was already peaking. We wouldn't want to have a sun burn right?

Yes, we are able to walk under the sun. But our skin is sensitive. It's only sun resistant.

"Come on. We'll have to get home before the sun scorches." He said.

Bending down, I picked my clothes up and suddenly started falling down. But before I could even feel the gravel feeling of it Evo had his hands under my armpits catching me.

My muscles burned and I felt numb. I was shocked, yes. But not because of my sudden falling but because of the small distance separating me and evo.

His eyes were wide like saucers. Just kidding. And I was gasping for air. I tried not breath on face because of morning breaths. So I pushed him away. With me landing on the soil.

My butt ached but I didn't care less. We were almost touching but of course nothing happened.

We stood up at the same time regaining our neutral breathing and confidence.

I tried brushing my clothes but no avail I couldn't reach my butt. "Here let me," I froze and didn't realize that he was already dusting my butt off.

If I were still human I'd be crimson red. I covered my mouth with both of my hands preventing myself from making strange noises and waited for him to finish.

"There you go," He said. I didn't have time to register what I did so did Evo when I stood on my toes and pecked him on the cheek.

"What the fuck." My eyes widened at my unplanned gesture and looked up to see him his hand midway frozen and his eyes wide just like mine.

Talk about awkward.

I didn't even wait for him to come back to his senses and ran full speed to the car. I was breathing hard not knowing what to do.

Why did I kiss him? Shit. I can't be- No but. Ugh! The feeling of my chapped lips on his smooth skin felt wonderful. It was like feeling the clouds on my lips.

Admit it Joanna.

No.

Admit it.

I debated with myself for what felt like hours but really are minutes I still couldn't move on with the fact that pecking his cheeks made me feel more energized.

Let's just face it... I'm attracted to Evo. Okay awkwardness embrace us.

What the hell was that? A friendly gesture or what?

I hesitated at brushing the dust of her butt at first but hell her arms were short. So that's why I offered her some help.

It was evident on her movements that she was nervous. But it wasn't my fault she had short arms.

I never expected that from her. Especially when she was on that kind of state.

But as girly and perky as this sounds...

It made my heart skip a beat.
