What kind of world do we live in?---July 16th 2012

This is a very angry I ranting at the world for what it has become. So I recently came across the news that a boy had been beaten to death because of his sexuality and that was the trigger being pulled for me. They killed a boy, a young man, because his sexuality didn't please them. And the worst part is that there are so many like him, and there are others too. We live in a world were people will be bullied, discriminated, harassed, beaten, frozen out, made fun of and in general exposed to all sorts of mistreatment just because they don't fit into the picture of The Ideal Society, just because they are, emo (or living any other lifestyle), disabled, homosexual, bisexual, transsexual, colored, of different race or  because they choose to dress differently or believe in a different religion or sometimes just because they're religious at all. SCREW THE IDEAL SOCIETY! What's the point of its existence if the people in it are all alike? Does it ever cross people's minds that we are different for a reason. That reason is balance of life. If we all liked the same ice-cream flavor, the world would run out of it pretty soon. If we all wanted to go to the same place at the same time, there would be no place large enough to contain us all. Most things in our everyday life would be impossible. That's why we are different and we think differently.

So this is to the people who think it's alright to mistreat others because they are different from them.

Ohh, so you think it's okay for you to mistreat others. Why? Because you're better? YOU'RE NOT! And as for those people who stand by you and make you feel like you are, they're fools... perhaps even more foolish than you. Do you think it's okay for you to discriminate, bully, disrespect, make fun of, beat, murder, harass and/or in any other way mistreat someone because he/she is.... let's take homo-/bi-/transsexual for example? Then, tell me, if you were living in a world dominated by any of the aforementioned, would you like them to mistreat you because you're straight? Would you like them to shoot you nasty looks? Would you like them to push you in corridors? Make mean comments about you? Ignore you when you speak to them? Chase you around just to beat you up? Send you mean texts telling you how you're so messed up and lame and not worthy of breathing the same air? Throw food at you? Throw trash at you? I don't think so! So how about you stop being such an a**hole and start treating people fairly. You can't blame someone for what they feel in their heart. You don't choose which girl/boy to fall for just like they don't choose what gender to fall for. And if you think you have the right to punish people for what they feel, I'll tell you, YOU DON'T.

Tell me, if you were of a different race than the majority of people in your society, would you like someone to call you names? Avoid interacting with you and tell others to not do so? Send you emails telling you how you don't belong where you are? Make jokes about your race? Spread myths about your race? No, you wouldn't. So why do to that to others? And in case you're too stupid to figure it out on your own, people don't choose what their race is to be, they're born with it and they live with it. So if you think there's something wrong with someone because of their race, there isn't and it could've been yours! Same goes as for color. People are born the way they are and you should accept them for what they are.

Do you think it's okay for you to pick on that kid in school, or that person in your neighbourhood because he/she is emo or simpily has a lifestyle other than yours? I've got news for you! IT'S NOT YOUR LIFE, IT'S HIS/HERS! Do you think it is okay for you to make fun of someone because of what they're wearing just because it isn't the latest trend, or new, or because it's not something worn by people in your culture. In case you haven't gotten the idea by now, it's THEIR body wearing THEIR clothes. If you like it, good for you. If you want to be nice, compliment them. If you don't like it, don't look at it, or even better, learn to live with seeing things you don't like!

Do you dislike people that don't share your religious opinions. Fact is, you live in a big world with billions of people, with so many different beliefs, and just like you they think theirs is the right one. We live in a world with so many problems greater than religious differences, so how about you take a step towards making it a better place, by accepting others beliefs as they accept yours. Too many people are already suffering and dying because of this. Either become part of the solution to this problem or back off and let those who are trying do so.

Do you think it is acceptable for you to treat disabled people wrongfully? Just so know, they didn't choose to be disabled. That's the hand they were dealt by life. It could've just as well been yours, and don't think because it isn't yours, you're safe from it. Tomorrow is a new day and no one knows what it may bring. Maybe it will bring you a disabled child, or disable someone dear to you, or it might just disable you, you know, accidents happen. And just because you can't see the light that shines through them, it doesn't mean that it's not there. Give them a chance, spend some time with them, get to know them. I'm sure you'll find their light to be very bright, if you don't, know that I feel sorry for you because of the darkness that's been brought upon your heart.

My point is (No, I didn't want to get to it earlier.) accept people for what they are and they'll accept you for what you are. And don't think that the tables will never turn on you, there are people like me willing to turn them on people like you, who are not willing to change.
