Chapter 1:
"Ciara's POV"
"Wake you fat ass up, Ciara!" I hear my aunt scream.
"Yo, lazy ass gonna be late for
school." She adds when I don't get up."I'm up, damn!" I mumble throwing the covers off my body.
"What you say, lil girl?" She asks. Damn I thought she walked off.
"Nothing." I say getting my stuff together to take a shower. I bump past her and make my way into the bathroom
"Better be nothing." I hear her say.
I swear it's always something with her. I can never do anything right. Every morning she starts with me. I never did anything to make her hate me. She just does. I swear I can't wait til I graduate, so I can get the fuck outta here. If only my mama didn't die. I wouldn't be here right now biting my tongue. I miss her like crazy. She was my rock. She never called me fat or made me feel bad about the way I looked. Why did she have to get mixed up with the wrong people? Oh, well. I'm not gonna sweat it anymore than I already do. I'm stuck her for the next 2 months. I turn the hot water on all the way and the cold on half way. I let the water cascade down my body then I lather my towel with soap and scrub every inch of my body 4 times. Then I rinse and repeat about 2 times. After my 15 minute shower, I get dressed and apply deodorant/perfume. Then I style my 26" Brazilian weave into a bun and put a big head band on. I don't need the head band because my best friend, Kimmie, can make it to where I can wear my weave however I want to without the tracks showing. I just like to add something so it won't look so plain. I brush my teeth and wash my face. After that I apply some lip gloss and mascara. I put on just a little more perfume. Just behind my ears and on my palms. Lasts longer. I get my stuff together and head back to my room. I grab my back pack and phone then make my way downstairs. I walk into the kitchen where my aunt, uncle, and cousin are eating breakfast. I open the fridge and grab a bottle of water then shut it. I walk past my uncle and rub his head. I LOVE my uncle. He's nothing like my aunt. He actually likes that fact that I'm here. I mean of course he's my blood but that doesn't mean anything. Blood is sometimes weaker than water. I thump my cousin, Boonie, on the head and take my seat across from my aunt.
"Good morning, baby girl." My uncle says. "How'd you sleep?" He adds.
"Great." I say. "Until Cruella Daville woke me up with that nonsense." I add mumbling.
"What did you just say?" My aunt asks.
"Nothing." I say. "Let me go before I'm late to school." I add excusing myself.
"Need a ride?" My uncle asks.
"Let her fat ass walk." My aunt says. "She needs to loose some damn weight." She adds.
"Nah, I'm good." I say walking out the front door.
"Hold up." I hear Boonie say behind me.
"Hurry up, nigga!" I say not stopping.
"Sorry bout ma." He says when he finally catches up. "You know she just be picking." He adds.
"It's cool. I'm used to it." I say. "You don't have to apologize for her." I add.
"I know." He says. "She probably just on her period or some shit." He adds laughing.
"Yeah, every damn day." I say laughing.
"True." He says.
"Shut up, 2 Chainz." I say as we turn the corner.
"Hell naw!" He yells. "I'm T.I. in this bitch!" He adds.
