A Meaningful Memory (Lime! Yuno x reader)

Hi everyone I am back (partially)! I apologize for the long hiatus, college, work, and running my college's anime club has really filled up my time; preventing me to write. This Yuno x reader was requested by @kylathetomboy. It's supposed to be a lime, but I'm sorry if it's not "limey" enough lol. Enjoy!

(Y/n)'s POV

"Tomorrow, I'm gonna become a magic knight and then I'll rise up and become the wizard king!" 15 year old Asta boldly proclaimed putting his foot on the church dinning hall table.

"Not a chance," Yuno said nonchalantly.

"Asta get your dirty foot off the table!" I yelled, pushing him off the table causing Asta to fall on the floor.

"Yowch (Y/n)! That hurts!" The grey haired boy screamed.

Everyone in the dinning hall began laughing. Asta's dumb outbursts were a daily occurrence, but tomorrow we would hear them no more.

"Yuno, I'm sure you're going to get into a great magic knight squad, but I'm not so sure about Asta!" Nash  said.

"Hey!" Asta yelled.

Yuno smirked at Asta. "I'm going to become the wizard king!"

"Everyone sit down, dinner is ready," Sister Lily announced, carrying in various dishes made from potatoes.

Once dinner finished, I decided to go outside to get some fresh air. After standing outside for awhile, I noticed the wind picked up.

"Yuno!" I said, realizing he was the reason why the wind picked up.

Yuno sure looks focused when he is practicing his magic. I'm really going to miss him when he leaves tomorrow.

"Hello (Y/n)," he replied without looking at me.

I want to talk to Yuno, but it's so hard to keep a conversation with him, since he's a man of few words.

"Things are going to be different without you and Asta here in Hage," I said to him.

Yuno looked over at me, gracing me a small smile, before refocusing on his training.

I don't know how, when, or why it happened, but I fell in love with Yuno. Perhaps it was because of his cool, mysterious persona; or perhaps it was because he was the only other person other than Asta who was around the same age as me.

"Yuno," I called his name.

The wind mage ceased his training once more and shifted his attention to me.

Maybe I should tell him how I feel; this might be the last time I'd see him. After all, who would want to return to a rundown village like Hage anyway?

"What is it (Y/n)?" He asked.

I sensed a hint of annoyance in his voice as he answered me. I guess that's because I'm interrupting his training.

"I-i don't want you to leave Hage!" I blurted out.

No! That's not what I wanted to say!

I didn't realize it, but tears began to drench my cheeks; not because of what I said, but because I finally came to the realization that after tonight I wouldn't see Yuno anymore. I knew the day would come when Yuno would leave me and I said I wouldn't cry and that I'd be happy for him, but it's true when they say it's easier said than done. However, my cheeks became dry again when I felt smooth fingers wipe my lukewarm tears away.

"Don't cry (Y/n)," He said as he wrapped me in his arms. "I promise I'll return to Hage."

"You will?!" I exclaimed elatedly. "Oh, but I'll still miss you even if it's for a short while."
