Shattered Skies

Shadow sat in the hanger looking at his jet, it was a special design that he created himself they called it the black talon. he knew the time was drawing near for him to have to climb into the cockpit of the black talon and take action to the upcoming war it was inevitable. the silence was as calm as the sea before a storm but was soon broken by the sound of footsteps entering the room. "i thought id find u here captain everyone is in the briefing room waiting for you" said an energetic voice it was one of shadows wing men Henry call-sign blaze he was 19 dressed in uniform with brown eyes and black hair. "ill be there soon just thinking.....this is futile peace can not and will not exist why do the bother trying" shadow responded standing up to look at Henry. "peace will happen you'll see captain" Henry says walking out of the hanger shadow following beside him. as they entered the briefing room the team saluted shadow and took their seats. shadow walked to the center of the room were a circular disk sat on table. "OK team for some of you this will be your first and for others your last training exercise" shadow says in an authoritative voice touching the disk causing a hologram to be displayed. "this will be a very basic training routine there will be air and ground targets you will be in your squads and you'll take them out as a team understood" shadow explains showing the targets on the hologram then turning it off. "understood sir!" they all said as the stood up and saluted shadow and rushed to the hanger. Henry approached shadow along with a girl, her name was Naomi she was 18 one year younger than shadow and Henry she was also Henry's sister she was dressed in uniform with hazel eyes and pink hair. "captain shadow will i be flying today" she says in an innocent voice but there was a long pause as Henry looked at shadow mouthing no but shadow looked back at Naomi and says yes. she rushes to the hanger and Henry glares at shadow "why are you letting her fly i asked u not to let her go up" Henry says angerly. "you cant protect her forever ya know plus shes one of our ace pilots beside me you and silver. ill keep an eye on her lets go" shadow says walking back to the hanger. shadow climbed into the cockpit of the black talon and led the squads out of the hanger. "everyone check your gauges and make sure your plane is ok" shadow announced over the comm system. "squad 2 all systems go, squad 4 all systems go, squad 3 all systems go, Naomi call-sign lightning all systems go, blaze all systems go" they all sounded off. "wheres sil...." shadow was cut off as the sound of a jet passed by overhead. "reckless as ever....ok all squads your have permission to take off" shadow says a little agitated as she takes off from the runway. "silver reporting in says a calm carefree but precise feminine voice". "land and wait for me in my office silver", "but captain enemy aircraft are approaching", shadow looked at the radar in shock "all inexperienced pilots land immediately" shadow yells through the comm system as he wipes his plane around and flies to meet the enemy "blaze, silver, lightning form on my wing weapons authorized shoot to kill i repeat shoot to kill!!" shadow says will a tone almost joyful. "with all do respect sir let my sister sit this one out" "we need her but ill let her guard the rookies to make sure they land safely so break formation lighting that's an order" shadow says with the same almost joyful tone "yes sir" she says and turns back soon after the enemy jets could be seen in the distance they were from the apposing country judging by the emblem they were bearing. "let the meaningless bloodshed begin" shadow says with a grin behind his face mask. the three pilots broke formation as they approached the enemy in total the enemy counted at 20 jets.

lightning hurried to get the rookies to land squad 2 and part of 3 were already on the ground heading to the hangers but she saw that some planes came under the radar from behind them and before she could say anything they swept in like an unnoticed breeze. there was 4 in total and the opened fire upon the rookies Swiss cheesing some of them and blowing up a few on impact. lightning screamed as she saw this and opened fire back. "No lightning" blaze says fearing the worse and wiped his jet back around speeding full speed back to his sister he opened fire on the enemy jets he was in a crazed fury thinking his sister was injured. blaze caught two off guard blowing them up and in his blind rage blaze killed the other two. "lightning are you ok please respond" blaze says in a worried tone, "I'm fine brother i was just shock but thank you for helping" meanwhile shadow and silver had finished off the last of the enemy's on their end and were flying back to base. "you keep flying like that and you'll be meeting your old captain real soon" shadow say over the comm system "I'm sorry captain ill do better and i wont lose another captain again i promise you" silver responded as they landed.
