shadow jump out of the cockpit of the black talon and took of his helmet. "so how many did we lose" asked shadow walking over to Naomi "all of squad 4 sir" Naomi says with a look and the sound of despair and sadness. "damn we need to train these rookies to fight like aces because if whoever that was decides to attack again we need to be ready" shadow says calmly but strict. "shadow sir we need you in the command center now we have bad news" says an attendant panting and breathing heavily. shadow rushes to the command center followed by Henry, Naomi, and silver. "the news just came in captain shadow the countries of east and west core have declared war on our country of Lucia" says the base commander. shadow grins a little and walks out into the hall with his team. "you all heard that which means get some sleep because we leave early in the morning" "i guess your right shadow there can not be true peace but that's why we are here, we maintain what little peace there is" Henry says walking to his quarters. shadow looked at him then to silver and Naomi, "ill brief the team in the morning before we head out if you need to do anything do if now because it might be a while before we come back to this base" shadow says then turns around and walks to the hanger. shadow walked into the hanger and looked at the black talon, "we have seen countless battles good and bad we have lost a lot of people in the process but we will fight on" shadow says in a low voice then lays on work bench in the back of the hanger and closes his eyes. "how long has he been a captain here and he sure does love his plane" says Naomi, "he has been a captain here a long time iv only been here half the time he has and that plane was originally a design from his brother until his brother went down in battle a few years back he demanded the base bring the wreckage back and so they did he fixed it up and added a few things it took him a year and a half and in that time he didn't go off on any sorties" silver replies and silently closes the door. "so how did you come about getting to this base" Naomi asked, "during the last war my captain went down because i got to reckless and didn't watch his back after that shadow specifically chose me to fly as his wing-man i never found out why" silver answered and sat outside the door with Naomi. "well my brother and i were just stationed here as you know so I'm trying to figure stuff out so do you think you could help me" Naomi asked "sure but there's nothing to figure out but anyway i have to attend to some things before we leave so get some sleep ill see you at the briefing tomorrow morning" silver says standing up and walking down the hallway.

the next morning shadow and his team were up before the sun rose. "OK team we will be embarking to black ice mountain base to the north....there is news that enemy planes have been spotted on our flight path so be vigilant we don't want to be caught off guard" shadow says in a stern voice "OK team lets move out its a 10 hour flight with one mid air refueling point" shadow announces and walks out of the briefing room. they all walked to the hanger and got into their planes. the whole team was quiet even during take off no one spoke because they knew this was just the beginning of something huge.

three hours into the flight blaze broke the silence, "so captain whats your take on this war what do you think started it and how long do you think it will end", "politics is always the start of these wars believe it or not but its whatever we are the ones that have to fight them..us the soldiers not anyone else and to tell you the truth i don't know when it will end we will just have to what and see". "we have company check the radar" silver announces "break off and engage to enemy" shadow says turning his plane around. lightning looks at the radar "there's seven enemies total captain", she turns her plane left and locks onto and enemy and fires two missiles. "that's a hit splash one enemy target" blaze says as he to takes down an enemy plane. shadow scans the enemy planes "damn not here", he locks on to three enemy planes and rolls his plane left as he fires off three missiles. "all three targets are eliminated no one bailed out" silver says still formed on shadow "the last three are yours silver" blaze says as he forms back on shadows wing along with lightning. silver breaks formation and shoots down the last two targets quickly and forms back on shadows wing. the rest of the way to black ice mountain base was uneventful all the team did was talk every so often. "this is captain shadow and squad one from volcano island base permission to land", "this is black ice we have been expecting you permission to land granted". the squad landed and dragged their exhausted bodies out of their planes knowing in a few hours they would have to get right back into them.

"So you guys are squad one of volcano island its an honor to finally meet you" says a kiddish voice for behind them as they made their way down the hall. henry turns and sees a kid no older than 16 and is surprised as the kid is in uniform. "Are you in the academy kid" henry asks as shadow turns around, "no im a pilot one of the aces of this base thats why its an honor to meet such an amazing band of pilots such as yourselves you guys are legends and my name is rick callsign rock" he says excitedly. shadow looks at rick alittle surprised "so you are one of the pilots that will be flying along side us" shadow asks, "yes sir" rick replies. "alright well me and the team will meet up with u later for a training excercise but now we need sleep" henry says as he and shadow start walking to the quarters that had been prepared for their squad.
