Nature's Curse (Why Don't We X Reader)

     It was an typical day at Valemore High. The only thing that stood out was the fact that every and each one of the students at Valemore High was on campus today. Why? Idk just cause they were told so I guess. But still everyone was here to the weirdest kid in the school, who is my friend, to the guy who is always absent.
     I actually didn't know anything about it so I stayed home and watched Series of Unfortunate Event on Netflix cause I have been reading the book ever since I remembered. My phone rings and I see its my friend who is calling so I answer it. 
**Start of Conversation**
Y/N: What?
Laylah: Where are you?
Y/N: At home eating food that's delicious but could kill you, so you know a normal Thursday afternon. You?
Laylah: I am at school.
Y/N: Why?
Laylah: Cause everybody else is here and besides Youvet dragged me here, so I didn't have much of a choice.
Y/N: Do you want me to come too?
Laylah: No i just called in to check in with you. So how's life?
Y/N: Well I don't know but my left butt cheek hur---
Laylah: I was being sarcastic.
Y/N: I know. And I will see you in 30 minutes.
**End of Conversation**
I looked at the clock on my phone and saw it was 6. I asked my father if I could go and they said yes. So I got ready. I put some make up on, meaning mascara, eyeliner and lip balm. Don't question it. I am a freshman and even if I were a senior I don't think I could be able to put make up on. Not cause I am about natural beauty its cause I don't know how. YouTube tutorials are tutorials not miracle works. My outfit was a maroon velvet crop top with a high waisted black shorts. Matched my top with my maroon sneakers. I had my hair in 2 French braids. After getting my phone, I started to head out.
     The school was about 2 or 3 miles away from my house so my dad drove me too school. When I reached school school I was greeted by the vice principals and 2 police officers. They were always there whenever we had any after school activities or anytime we had a pep rally. I went in and called Laylah to ask her where she was and she said that she was in the math building. I don't know why but at the pit of my stomach I knew something was wrong.
     I looked around and the school was actually packed. More packed than an regular school day. It was weird and it made kind off feel unsafe but low-key my adrenaline was rushing...but not the good kind, but the one you get during an horror film. I opened the door to get into the math building. I saw laylah at the end of the hallway entering a class.
     I signaled her that I am going to the restroom and she nodded. I was texting my parents that I am alive and nobody kidnapped and that I am meeting up with laylah. I opened the bathroom door.
      I was still texting so I didn't pay attention to my surrounding that much. I had a pad in my hand that I got from the office yesterday in the morning when I started my period four days ago but forgot to bring a pad. I went into the bathroom stall and opened the packet it made its usuall noise and since it was a girl's bathroom it didn't matter. And so I did my business. I got out of the stall and was greeted by a tall, hot boy with blue eyes. He was looking in the mirror at his neck, maybe looking for a hickey. I know this guy. His name is Daniel . He is in my math class. He is not a player, but he does have a new girl in his arm every time I see him. I am not one to judge, so I don't put labels, but that doesn't mean that I didn't put my guard down. I am nice to him, and he didn't flirt with me ever so I didn't have a reason to be mean or rude to him. But, what the Heck was he doing in the girls bathroom?!?!

I looked at him, and he looked me
through the mirror.
**Conversation between you two lovelies**
Daniel: Y/N! What are you doing in here?
Y/N: Ummm......what are YOU doing in HERE? (I said emphasising on those words)
Daniel: You know if you wanted to be alone with me all you had to do was ask?
( I swear to god my face just went from my normal skin color to crimson in seconds).
Alex looks at my hands and sees me holding the wrapper in my hands.
Daniel: What's that? (He said that while pointing at my hands. I am clutching the wrapper trying to hide it, but I don't know if it works or not)
Y/N: N...N...Noth..Nothing.
( If I wasn't crimson before I sure was now).
**End of Conversation**
It got awkward. I was staring at the floor. He was staring at me......HE WAS STARING AT ME! When I caught him staring at me, he scratched the back of his neck and looked at the floor, while biting his oh so perfect, pink lips. He had that cute smile on his face. He looked so innocent and so pure and so perfect. But then, I just decided to say, "You are cute". I swear when I said I snorted a bit, and he just blushed a bit and than he looked at me in the eyes. He was biting his lips as he came towards me. His eye locked into mine. As he came forward, I kept on going backwards. I kept on going backwards until my back hit the wall. He put both of his hands on the wall, trapping me. He removed his right hand from the wall and traced it down to my hand. It didn't send shivers. It sent a whole damn snowstorm through me. He leaned in, and I thought that he was about to kiss me. So I pushed him away from me and started to walk away, but somehow, I managed to trip on air. Don't know exactly how but thankfully Daniel gripped my waist firmly. Since I was wearing a crop top his hands didn't touch my clothes. It touched my bare stomach. So I guess we made skin to skin contact. He pulled me closer to him, but not to close. He respected my personal boundaries, and I respected that of him.
**Converstaion**
Daniel and Y/N: Sorry I didn't mean tha-
Daniel and Y/N: You go first.
Daniel and Y/N: Okay.
Y/N: Fairy Prinkles.
Daniel: What?
Y/N: Okay now that we aren't saying anything in sync I think I am going to go first. Thank you for saving from humiliating myself in front of you. And I am sorry if this made you uncomfortable but please don't apologize because its not your fault-
Daniel: No Y/N its my fault-
Y/N: Alex. Its rude to interfere when some one is talking and its my fault so stop apologizing. (I turned around to leave but instead of saying anything he just chuckled cutely)
Daniel: I swear to god you are cute and innocent.
Y/N: If really knew me than you would know I am not. See you around Daniel.
Daniel: You can bet on it. (He mumbles this part so I can make it out but not exactly hear what he said that perfectly).
**End of Conversation**
After getting out of the bathroom I looked at the door. It was the guys bathroom not girls. I sighed deeply in disappointment. I was walking down the hallway. I entered the classroom. It was my math teachers class. Miss. Hugman's class, she is the best teacher ever period. She saw me and greeted me by signing me to the chocolate chip cookies in a silver tray. I took one and went to seat by my friends. Laylah was talking to Anthony and Serya. Anthony is in her Biology class and she always partners with them. I usually roll my eyes whenever she says that she doesn't like him. There is also Serya who I think likes laylah. But I feel like laylah doesn't like her. No not cause laylah is straight, cause she is bi. I think she is more interested in Anthony cause he manages to "read her mind". Right now we are almost at the end of the school year. Literally, we have only three weeks. In the beginning of the school year a guy asked her out and she said no. After some more tries from the poor guy she said yes. Than she broke up with him saying he was clingy and she didn't want that. Than there was the other guy. He was something. And not in a good way. Lastly there was the other other guy. They dated for three days till she broke up with him. She said that all of them were clingy and that they couldn't read her mind like I did. I said the only reason I was able to read her mind was because I always hanged out with her in 8th grade and we always hangout in the morning. But she was stubborn and said that "if you can read me mind, so should they". I think Anthony is the one. We were all just seating there chatting. Than Alex's group came in. There were four others besides Alex.

The one the left is Zach. The one second to the left is Jonah. The one in the middle is Corbyn. And the one to the second right is Noodle head. Sorry I meant to say Jack. His name is Jack. And we have Daniel. They came in and just stared at the cookies before they all just grabbed one. It was weird. Than I saw Daniel and he saw me. It got awkward because even though I looked away he kept on staring. He does that all the time, but I guess it really doesn't bother me...HE IS JUST SO CUTE! They sat down a few desks away from us. All of Daniel's friends were laughing and joking  around, but Daniel was just looking at me and smiling the whole time. This made a lityle bit nervouse causing my cheeks to tint alittle bit of ponk, and i started fidgeting with my hands and biting my lips while looking at my hands. His friends tried to get him to talk, but the worst thing happened. Daniel wouldn't stop staring and all his friends saw that. He started blushing like crazy because his friends made it so obvious. That wasn't the worst part. Zach and Jack, the goofs, looked at Alex, and then at me, and when I looked away, both of them came and walked up to me. They never really talked to me, so I just sat there awkwardly. They sat down and kept on trying to talk to me.

Zach: "What's up...Y/N?"

Jack: "How's it going?"

Y/N: "Um...hi..."

They kept looking back at Daniel to see his reaction. He was blushing like crazy. Then, of course, I started blushing, which made things worse. Corbyn and Jonah were sitting with Daniel, laughing and annoying him. Then, Zach kept on asking me the same thing over and over again. He wanted to know if I LIKED ALEX! How could I have said that I liked him ever since I saw him. That I get a storm of a million butterflies every time he looks at me. That every time I see him I lose myself and can't concentrate. That he is the first guy that I can look at without being afraid of getting hurt. That he means so much to me. That I have been waiting for a moment like what happened in the bathroom for the longest time. Ugh...I can't admit everything to his friend. If Daniel finds out, it will be one day where I tell him everything. Not this way. It is too sudden. It needs to be a perfect moment. Anyways, I just sat there awkwardly, not knowing how to reply, so all I could do, which was the worst decision, was stare at Daniel. Jack whispered something to Zach, and then Zack looked at me and smiled, and Jack looked at Daniel and did the same thing. Then, both of them left. Laylah was just sitting there confused.

Laylah: "So, what was that about..."

Y/N: "You know how I like Daniel..."

Laylah: "YOU LIKE DANIEL!"

Ugh...everyone heard it...including Daniel. Zach and Jack yelled out what I didn't want to hear.

Zach and Jack: "Bro, I knew it dude. She freakin' wants you too!"

I started blushing like crazy because Daniel kept on looking at me. In that moment I wanted to die. To disappear or be invisible. All I could do was just sit there in embarrassment looking like a tomato. What made it all worse was Gabe was in the class. I didn't even see when he walked in, but he heard everything...and I mean...everything. This so was really bad because Gabe and Daniel are close...and I kind of hit on him before I met Daniel...it was so awkward...hopefully he doesn't bring it up. Gabe went and sat down with them and of course he wouldn't stop staring. I didn't mind though, but apparently Gabe did.
