A/N: Too many endings

Still happens in 2 b) but separate from 2 b) ii

_______________________________________________________________________________After a quick moment of indecision, you nod your head. She sighs of relief, says, "Good," and leads you back to the boys. You stand there awkwardly, and she breaks the silence and says, "Tell them, Mari." You shuffle your feet, and eventually admit, "Since April Fools' was on Sunday, I thought that the letter was just a late prank, and... yeah."

The confession is met with a bunch of groans, facepalms, and one I thought you were supposed to be smart! from an unknown identity that Lise nevertheless bristles at. But the one reaction that surprises you the most was a nervous chuckle from Xander. He looks at you and says, "So, do you say yes?"

You smile shyly and nod, and he pumps his fist and hollers, "Yes!" He moves in for a hug before remembering that you are in fact a girl. Your smile widens, his excitement contagious, and you hug him tightly, and he, after a bit of surprise, returns the gesture wholeheartedly.

Whistles and claps ring through the hall; and out of the corner of your eye, you see a red-eared Lise shyly yet animatedly holding a discussion with Neall, Bahom and (an also blushing) Miles.

You guess that they're all getting the answers they've needed for the past year, and make a mental note to ask her about it later, but in your embrace with Xander, you couldn't care less.

You were happy. He was happy. You were together. And in your little bubble, that was all that mattered.

Life, you thought blissfully as you let each other go and gazed into each others' eyes, was going to be very different.
