Chapter 21

Umji P.O.V

I stood there just putting a fake smile on my face pretending to care about the conversation they were having. It has been a while since the party started and yet there's no sign of the guys or Suga. It made me feel worried that they won't come and Suga will find out about my engagement in the news.

"If you excuse me for a moment," I said as I escape from the conversation.

"Congratulations Princess." Everyone was saying as I passed by them.

"Umji, over here!" I look over and saw my friends waving at me. I walk to them with a smile on my face.

"Thank god you girls are here," I said to them while giving them each a hug.

"Congratulations on your engagement." Sinb joke around with me, but I didn't feel like laughing.

"Don't worry too much." Yuju pat my head.

"Have the guys not arrive?" Eunha asked me, looking around.

"No, I guess there late." I grab a drink from the maids passing by. I was about to drink it when someone took it away from my hands.

"That's mi-" I turn around and saw Vernon with a grin on his face.

"I can't let my future wife drink before our announcement unless you want to say something stupid." I rolled my eyes at him before giving him a smile.

"How did it go?" I asked him as I notice the bruise he had on his cheek which they tried to cover with makeup.

"She wasn't happy at first, but then she understood." There was some sadness in his voice that he tried to cover up with a smile.

"She left you, right?" His smile fades away.

"Her last words were, 'I nothing compare to her' after that she left me." I wanted to hug him, but I knew it will cause a scene.

"I'm sorry." He just shrugs his shoulders.

"What about yours?" I look away.

"No way!! You haven't told him!!" I cover his mouth as he was way too loud.

"Lower your voice." I took my hand away from his mouth.

"Princess Kim Yewon and Prince Hansol Vernon!!" One of the maids came running towards us.

"Yes?" We both said at the same time.

"It's time, your parents are both waiting for both of your highness, so please follow me." We both look at each hating the fact that after this it's game over for both of us.

"Are you ready?" I shook my head no, but either way in this castle my opinion never matters.

"See you later girls." I wave at them, but when I did they all gave me weird looks.

"Umji, he's here!!" I really couldn't make up what they were saying.

"What?" I mouth, but when they were about to reposed I lost sight of them when the crowd moves in.

"What were they saying?" I whisper to myself.

"I have no Idea all I hear was your name," Vernon told me.

We arrive at our destination in a few seconds, but all the time I was trying to understand what my friends were trying to tell me.

"You better not mess this up or make me look like a fool, you got that Yewon?" My father told me, I look at my mother and brother.

"Yes, father." That's all I could say. After that, both queens and kings began to walk my father behind them and Vernon sister behind her parents and behind all of them, it was me and Vernon link arm to arm. All eyes were on us yet I didn't even smile or even pretend that I was happy about this. I just keep my head straight ignoring the gaze of the people or the flashlight of the cameras.
