A phone rang.

"It's her," one of the guys said.

"Look bitch, if you don't give me my money, your girls in trouble!" Midnight said after snatching the phone.

I ain't talk to her in months and here she is calling, at this moment.

Cool.

"Alright, yea, we'll take you up on that offer," Midnight replied after going back and forth with her.

He hung up the phone.

"Y'all ours now," He said.

The fuck?

The fuck he mean by that.

"Ya' Mom just said she'll give y'all to us to pay her debt," Midnight continued.

Yo this can't be happening!

This bitch really just traded us like we ain't people

"The fuck you mean y'all ours, she can't just do that, you just can't do that. No, this isn't happening, how much she owe? I'll pay it back myself!" I exclaimed.

"15k, you got that kind of money? You a stripper or something?" One of his boys answered.

My life is fucking over.

There's no ways to escape or leave. I mean I got a cousin in Philly but technically we ain't even related and I barely know her. I don't even know if she's old enough to take care of me. What if she's still in college? Will my aunt and uncle allow me to stay? Even if I wanted to or for instance cousin decided to let me stay with her , there's no way to leave. They're trying to take us now.

I don't have 15k, I don't even have 1k. Let alone $50 dollars.

"Grab em' up and take em to the Jersey house," Midnight demanded.

"Wait, what if I give you want I have? Just for now, please?" I begged.

"How much you got? " Midnight questioned.

I pulled out my iPhone 6.

"Hold on," I said.

I rushed to find Aubrey's name in favorites.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"HEY BEST!" Aubrey answered with enthusiasm.

"Look, Midnight is here and I need some money, I promise I'll pay you back," I said frantically.

"Girl I got you. I got $600, that's enough?" She asked.

Not even close.

"Will y'all take $600 for now?" I asked scared.

They looked at me like I was crazy.

Aubrey rushed in with the money.

"Here take it and go!" She stammered.

"You got until tonight, Shay! If you can't get the money, you and her come with us," Midnight said before leaving.

He was serious.

I hugged Aubrey with all my heart.

"Thank you so much! Man, I don't know what I would do without you. For real, you're always there for me. I owe it to you big time. Wait but how'd you get the money?" I piped out.

"Baby girl, that's what best friends are for and you really think I was going to let them take my little Buggy away. Oh and the money was from my savings," She reassured.
