                                                          Chapter 5

For days Jake would wait in his room for his long talked about training to begin, but when he questioned Anerok about it he was told that the teachers were busy with other students and he would have to wait his turn,

"This is strange", Jake thought he's been noticing the tension in the palace for days and he couldn't help but think that whatever was delaying his training had something to do with the almost stifling atmosphere he came to experience in recent times.

And still not being able to contact Anna he was bored out of his mind.

Eventually Jake decided to start his own training in his room, "practice makes perfect" he said, "this cant be too hard, according to Anerok all i have to do is concentrate and imaging what i want to do, then i have to will it into reality, easy as pie"

It didn't take Jake long to figure out that "easy as pie" was the understatement of the millennium.

Training wasn't so much hard as it was complicated, it was easy getting the basics down, but getting in depth into "envisioning" yourself doing what you were imagining yourself doing was what made it really troubling for Jake.

He understood the concept but actually doing it was beginning to ware him down, he was so excited when he envisioned himself flying and it worked, he flew for close to fifteen minutes before he got scared of the height he was reaching, which resulted in him losing his concentration and falling.

"That was awesome" he said.

"But keeping my focus gets hard when i become too excited"

Jake was in his third week of his self training/prison sentence and so far he has tried, making food appear before him which fell and spilled on the floor, breathing under water, which didn't go as well as he wanted to because he panicked as soon as he ran out of breath and nearly drowned, and last but not least he tried to stop time, which only resulted in him breaking the clock he was staring at.

"Oh my god this is hard!"

"But if i can master my ability i will be able to do so much things, i could even become a ninja, maybe not an original one but i will be just as good, no better, my ability allows me to do anything according to Anerok, so not only can i pull off being a ninja, i should be able to surpass them by doing things they could only dream of, i will be the most awesome ninja ever!!...i mean if they truly exist, being all secretive and stealthy and all, well who knows they just might be out there somewhere." thought Jake.

" I could use the black flames i used before on the Zylorax as my fire technique and i will definitely learn how to manipulate all the other elements, this is going to be awesome!"

Just then Jake began wondering why the flames were even black in the first place, he remembered only imagining the flames, and at the time he was being attacked by a monster while he was talking to some voice in his head, he didn't think he was sane anymore much less to think of a color at all

"So why did it come out black?" he asked himself.

"Well....... i guess black is what you could get by default, if you didn't think about a specific color" he thought.

Hours passed and Jake kept wondering about the color of his flame, until he finally decided the only way to know for sure was to try doing it again, he'd been too scared to attempt conjouring the flames he once manipulated but right now his curiosity took over, causing him to throw caution too the wind.
