Graduation day. I finally did it, the biggest accomplishment of my life. 24 years old with a Masters Degree in Counseling, not to mention the debt that I am in but I won't let that spoil my day.

After what seemed like forever in school I was finally done with it, eventually I might go back to school to further my education but as of right now, I am perfectly content with what I have accomplished. As I sit here in the crowd of my peers waiting for our names to be called, I think about all the ups and downs of my college life. From pulling all nighters to waking up in the back seat of a car outside a frat house. That was the one and only time that happened, since partying isn't my thing but once in a while I will indulge.

I turn around to see if I can see my best friend Violet Riley, who sadly isn't right next to me since my last name starts with an F. Looking I finally see her smiling back at me like if she knew I was looking for her, I swear I feel so nostalgic graduating together. It reminds me of us back in middle school for our promotion.

My parents and brother are somewhere in the huge crowd waiting to see me walk across that stage. When the Dean came out to start the ceremony there was a loud eruption of claps, screams, and whistling. I laugh to myself, my smile couldn't be any bigger and would soon hurt me since I can feel my cheeks hurting.

After what seemed like forever we all started to stand up to make our way to the stage, carefully making sure that I didn't trip in my heels or step on my gown. I turn back to send Violet a cheeky grin.

Getting closer and closer to the stage I feel my eyes watering up, god I feel like I cry for any little thing, but this thing was all me. My education, my degree, after endless all nighters, tears and frustration, this was the start of a new chapter. And it was at that moment, the Dean announced my name:

"Luvia Fontaine!"
