Manchester?

"Jane," my mother looked at me as she drank her coffee, "we are leaving for Man tomorrow, don't you remember?"

Geez, how could I forget?

My mother left my dad a few months back and felt the need for a new start. I mean, I could use a new start too. I guess we all could. Especially my little sister, Sasha. She got the worst out of my parents' split.

I mean, from what my mother told me, Manchester is a hella cool place. And by 'hella cool' I mean cold, freezing, and pretty damn gloomy.

"hmph yes," I sighed and shoveled a spoon full of cereal into my mouth, "I am going to miss this place."

My mother smiled, "I'm not, just think of all the new people you'll meet,"

"Yah," I rolled my eyes, "-think of all the new people that'll make fun of the way I talk,"

"You don't need an accent, girly," my mother smiled at me,

I mean, I guess she is right, but I was gonna stand out like crazy.

I half smiled at my mom and ran upstairs to change out of my pajamas. I could hear my sister singing from the bathroom. Gosh, she sounded like shite.

Sasha was always singing. She constantly talked about being in a band. I mean, highly unlikely, but I'm never mean to her about it.

I guess I just knew that we all have our dreams and things that we chase. Sasha's is a career, Mom's is a break from the world, and mine is... Well, I guess I just don't know.

I know that school starts in a month, but I just don't want to think about it until I have to. I mean, what will there even be to look forward to? Yeah... Nothing... Absolutely zilch things to make me happy. All I have is me and my favorite Frank Sinatra records that were passed down to me.
