Shit, shit shit!!

She swore to wake up on time to get ready. Well, she had ten minutes before the first school bell would ring, but she always liked having at least twenty to talk to her friend.

An idea that seemed too radical only a year ago, but with how hectic and full schedules got, Y/n had to find a way to squeeze some social interactions in her life.

Hurriedly stuffing her biology books into her f/c backpack, she was quick to bolt towards the main campus.

Inside the classroom, her friend was gone. In her place was a young woman with sandy-blonde hair in a boyish pixie cut, and incredibly thick eyebrows- which were hard to miss as they were dark, nearly brown.

Y/n took a seat next to the woman, who closer up, was just stunning. The woman turned to her and gave her a polite smile, her defined cheekbones accentuating her freckles. She introduced herself as Alice Kirkland.

It took her a moment to collect her thoughts— and composure. "Nice to meet you, Alice. I'm Y/n L/n." She never used her last name in introductions, but something about Alice compelled her to do the same.

Another smile— oh god, were those dimples? Cute, cute, cuuuuute!!

Alice looked as though she wanted to say something, but the professor interrupted any further discussion so that class could begin. Y/n tried to pay attention to the lesson, and not the Englishwoman. Of course, because of this distraction and anticipation to talk to her again, the class seemed to drag on for eternity.

Centuries later, the professor ended the PowerPoint and answered the remaining questions-- which probably took no longer than ten minutes, though it felt like another decade to the impatient (Nationality) woman.

Once the eternity finally ended, Y/n finally got to chat with Alice as they were packing up.

She acquired some valuable facts; Alice hailed from England, London specifically, bouncing between Liverpool and Manchester, before deciding to move to America to continue her studies.

Being the new transfer student, Alice politely asked if Y/n would be willing to show her around.

Y/n could only hope her eagerness wasn't too obvious. "On your left is the library. I recommend it on Sundays and Thursdays, since Monday, Friday, and sometimes Saturday are packed."

"Mind if I ask about Tuesday and Wednesday? Or perhaps you wouldn't want another visitor on your day." Alice mused at her joke.

An uncharacteristically shy laugh came out of  Y/n. "Wednesday is the aftermath... Tuesdays mean Taco Bell, so everyone's stanking up the place."

This made Alice burst into laughter, which was both casual yet so regal. To add on top of that, the morning sun filtered through the collage's large windowpanes, outlining her robust yet beautiful features in gold. Y/n's breath was caught.

When she opened her eyes, her emeralds sparkled hazel, and even her freckles seemed to twinkle at her. "Hard-learned lesson, huh?"

Y/n's voice caught in her throat, causing her to nod like a dumb sheep.
