Ochi Pot

Ochi is the first person Cortez likes besides Murdoc. The young tot was always interested in the bird because unlike most birds he had seen Cortez stayed by Murdoc's side, unless he went out scavenging for food. 2D was afraid Cortez was going to nip his son, as the bird pretty much hated him. Whenever Ochi would get too close to Cortez, 2D would quickly snatch his son up so he wouldn't get attacked but the singer ends up disturbing Cortez instead. Back during, what Murdoc calls his "Glory shit days" Cortez had been trained as a watch bird for Kong and reported any suspicious activity to the Satanist. Especially if the singer had tried to escape. The bird still has this skill and that is why Cortez nips at 2D. 

With Ochi, Cortez is different. The bird silently watches the little boy from a far and if Ochi comes close to him, Cortez simply cocks his head. It is as if Cortez is just as curious about Ochi as Ochi is about him. When Ochi was two, one morning at the table he had picked up a piece of his toast and called over to Cortez who sat on the coat rack. It startled the band to watch Cortez actually fly over upon being called by someone other than Murdoc. But the real shock was Cortez gently taking the piece of toast from Ochi without nipping him. Noodle had tried offering Cortez food when she was little as well, but the raven had bit her finger which Murdoc swore was by accident.  Most likely because the little girl was crying and Russel was pissed and ready to kill the bird by that point. Everyone expected the same result,  but Cortez surprised them all by accepting the little boys offer and even allowed the child to pat his head.
