I waited next to the back entrance of the school like I was told to by Jughead. According to Toni, this was the teachers' entrance, which made sense considering I had only seen teachers walk to (and from, when they forgot something) their vehicles as I had been waiting here.

It had been six and a half minutes of loitering back here before Jughead rolled up on a motorcycle with Betty hanging off of him, neither of them wearing helmets.

A few seconds after, Sweet Pea pulled up behind Jughead and Betty, also not wearing a helmet. He turned to reach behind him and grabbed the helmet that was hanging off the back of his motorcycle.

"Think fast!" he shouted before tossing the helmet my way. Instinctively, I went to catch it. It tumbled out of my hands though and fell to the ground. I rushed to grab it.

"Hey! I don't go around dropping your helmets," he scolded jokingly. I let out a nervous laugh and strapped the helmet securely on my head.

"Are you sure this is safe?" I asked him, slinging my leg over his bike as I mounted it.

"Just don't fall off and you'll be fine," he responded simply.

What did I get myself into? I asked myself as we drove off the school property, following Toni and Cheryl in a car.

. . .

Nearly ten minutes later, we pulled into a parking lot right behind Toni and Cheryl's vehicle. We appeared to be at a jail. I looked questioningly at Jughead.

"Why are we here?" I asked no one in particular.

"This is where we're meeting Vic," Toni informed me as she exited the vehicle.

"Who even is this Vic person?" I let out. I didn't even know anything about him except for the fact that he was the 'ringleader.'

"I'm Vic," came a voice from behind me. I turned to see a somewhat short Mexican boy with shoulder-length hair. He had on a leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and a flannel like Jughead and Toni. He had kind facial features and a bit of stubble on his chin (probably from being in jail). To be entirely and brutally honest, I thought he was extremely attractive.

The only issue?

He was being escorted out by a police officer.

"Thanks, Adam," Vic said to the officer when he let go of his arm. "It's been a pleasure spending time with you again."

"I swear Fuentes, next time you'll be in longer than a week," the officer replied.

Adam walked back into the building and Vic let out a chuckle.

"That guy cracks me up sometimes," he exclaimed. The rest of the Serpents let out laughs with him.

"He seriously hates you, dude," Sweat Pea said to him.

"Yeah, I know," Vic said with a cheeky smile. How could a criminal have such an adorable smile?

"Anyway, who's this?" Vic inquired.

My eyes went wide when I realized he was talking about me. I was about to answer him when Jughead butt in.

"This is Kellin. He's new at school. Kind of a loser. No friends. We took him in," he reported to his 'leader.'

I scoffed at his answer. We were not gonna start this conversation on Jughead's lies.

"First of all, it's only my first day. That means I don't have friends yet." I seemed to have directed my response towards explaining myself to Vic. For some reason, I didn't want to seem lame in his presence. I glanced at him for a second and he had an amused smile on his face. So I kept going.

"And second, you didn't really 'take me in.' You basically forced me to come with you to pick up this Vic guy that I've never met before," I finished with a huff.

Vic slowly began clapping. I watched him as he approached me. He placed a hand on my left shoulder.

"I like this guy," he told his present gang members.

"Thanks?" I let out. I didn't really know how to respond to that.

Vic chuckled yet again and walked to the car that Cheryl and Toni came in. He hopped in the passenger side and left the door open.

"Let's get this boy home for now," he instructed. "But tomorrow I wanna bring him to the Wyrm."

Everyone nodded in agreement with him and he smiled to himself before shutting the car door.

Toni got in the driver's side, and Cheryl the back. Jughead and Betty took off on Jughead's motorcycle. Sweat Pea turned to me.

"Where do you live?" He requested.

"322 North Avenue, " I informed him. He nodded and started up his bike.

Then, Sweat Pea took me home.
