To say that Annabelle Simons woke up with a start was an understatement, the shouts coming from the front neighbours woke her from her peaceful slumber, she looked at the clock and groaned seeing it was midday, she wished that she could just stay in bed all day and pretend that she was back in England, but alas the shouts didn't die down, knowing fully well that her mother would still be asleep the young girl slipped out of bed and walked to the bathroom.

After showering she wrapped a fluffy towel around her body before walking back to her bedroom, the Californian heat already slipping into the house leading to the young girl fanning her face, once back in her bedroom Annabelle grabbed a pair of matching garments and bra pulling them on, she then walked to her wardrobe and pulled out a pair of camo pants and a black top, quickly throwing the clothes on she forced her white converse on her feet and pulled her hair into a messy bun.

The shouting match seemed to be getting bigger and louder and the young brunette questioned if this happened often, she could clearly distinguish 1 female and 2 male voice in the shouting match. Sighing the brunette walked down the ground floor before swinging open the door and stepping outside into the scalding Californian air completely, her muscles complained at the heat being more used to the cold her home country offered, however her thoughts of back home were dismissed the second she heard a loud slapping sound followed by a scream and a thund.

Wasting no time, the 18 year old girl rushed to the house in front of hers, barged into the house through the front door, not caring as she stalked to the kitchen where she saw two guys standing over the fallen girl, "Hey dickhead!" Annabelle shouted catching their attentions as she grabbed a drying frying pan, "Didn't your mother ever teach you that you don't hit women?!" she inquired rhetorically before swinging the pan and smashing it against one of the boys faces.

The boy fell on the ground with a load groan as blood dripped from his nose and opened mouth, the other boy stared at the brunette in shock before going to punch the saviour of the girl on the ground, Annabelle however had anticipated his actions and instantly caught his fist before connecting her own with his face, a loud crunch filled the air making the brunette smile in satisfaction, "Now you two better leave the house before I get pissed and take your lives with my bare hands." she threatened as she released him.

The boy grabbed his friend and the two ran out the back door, Annabelle pulled the fallen girl to her feet and pulled her hair out of her face, "Are you alright?" Annabelle inquired worriedly, "I'm fine, I just never expected him to punch me that's all." the girl confessed shaking her head slightly before reaching for a cup of water, Annabelle closed the back door, locking it before saying "I'm Annabelle Simons, I'm your new front door neighbour." her British accent rolling from her tongue like honey, "Mia Toretto, sorry if we woke you, I assure you we aren't like that... much..." The bruised girl said as she set her cup down.

"Nah it's good, it's time to wake up anyways. You live here alone?" Annabelle inquired as she sat on the table, "No, I live with my older brother Dom, though he's not here right now." Mia said smiling at the woman that had helped her, "Cool, I live with my mom but when school starts she's going back to work..." the British girl stated with a small shrug, Mia hummed and went to grab a bag of frozen peas before gently pressing it against her cheek noting how her new neighbour simply sat there swinging her legs as she looked out the window and into the backyard, almost as if she were stalling her departure.

"Do you want to stay here and help me making lunch?" Mia inquired, smiling as she saw the hope grow in the girl's eyes, "If you'll have me..." Annabelle stated slowly, wanting to be sure that she wasn't intruding, "Not at all, beside's what kind of neighbour would I be if I didn't welcome you properly." Mia laughed making Anna sigh in contend and giggle slightly. "Alright, want me to set the table out back?" she new girl questioned with a cocked brow leading the really tan girl to nod and point to the cabinet behind Anna.

Slipping out of the table and making her way to the cabinet Anna asked "How many?" "Well, you, me, Letty and Vince, I'd say that makes 4." Mia teased slightly as she began making a salad, rolling her dark brown orbs Anna grabbed 4 plates before heading outside, unlocking the door quickly trying not to drop the plates, she set them down two on one side and two on the other, "Do you mind turning on the BBQ?" Mia called out from the kitchen, Anna nodded even though Mia couldn't see her and light the BBQ up before heading back inside, "Thanks, can you make some beans, rice, scrambled eggs?" Mia said as she reached for the meat that was inside a bowl, "I think I'll stick with what I know best, BBQ." Anna contradicted with a small smile, grabbing the bowl from Mia's hands before walking outside.

Mia gaped at her possible new friend, who acted as if they had been friends since ever before shaking her head and continuing making the things she had listed previously, watching from the window as Annabelle  placed the meat on the grill, painted with with the extra sauce that she could find before walking back inside, "Metal plate?" she asked still holding the sauce brush, Mia handed it and questioned "Can I give you a Corona?" watching Anna's frown she simply reached for two Coronas whilst saying "Beers, the only ones my brother will actually drink."

Anna shrugged slightly as she held the metal plate and the brush in the same hand as she reached for the capless bottle, taking a small sip while Mia watched, a look of content and passion etched itself on her face as she swallowed and stared back at the tanner girl, "I get why your brother only likes these, no beer back in London tasted like this." Anna confessed as she walked back out to the griller.
