Stop Bullying
***
You go home every day after school. You sit there checking Instagram, checking Snapchat, or twitter. You see all these mean and unknown comments, but you ignore them the best you can. "Your fat," they say. "Your ugly" "You should just give up, because no one cares and no one ever will" They say all these mean things and your doing your absolute best to keep your tears inside, to keep your sadness inside, because for all you know they will always be there telling you your not good enough.
People think that it is okay, that it's okay to just hurt someone to make them feel that they are not the only ones out there in trouble, but let me tell you something.
The boy you called lame. He has to work every night to support his family. The girl you pushed down the other day. She is already being abused at home. The girl you called fat. She is starving herself. The boy you made fun of for crying. His mother is dying. Everyone is fighting a battle that you don't know about, but you don't seem to care, do you?
Everyone says these things, but no one helps, no one cares, because you're on your own for now. Waiting for the sun to go down so you can fall asleep, even though you will cry yourself to sleep every night, but you wait. Wait till the sun comes up so you can stop crying and start a new day. Start a brand new day, until it becomes the same day as the last week or two, or maybe it is the same day that every day of your life.
You need this to be popular, you need that to be accepted. You're never going to fit in without it. Because they are important and you will look more beautiful with them than without.
No one knows your hiding these feelings because they are hidden, not wanting to escape. You never knew what could happen to you until you saw it there right in front of you. You run and scream and try to hide from it all, but in the end, it's nowhere to be seen. It's all in your head, wanting to come out, but not wanting to be heard.
You can't believe these people came after you. You try to stick up, but your that quiet person in the back of the room not saying a word. No one is there to say hello or goodbye. Your alone in the dark and scary world where people judge and never be kind.
You think if they aren't kind to me then why am I kind to them. You want to push yourself out of the dark, deep scary hole that they have trapped you in, but they keep pushing you down farther and farther.
Farther down the hole, until you can't take it anymore. You stop everything, but yourself. You inch closer and closer until...
You're nowhere to be seen, your nowhere to be heard.
This is what one person can do to another. They can hurt you one way or another.
We need to stand up and be the one like our school tells us, but how can we, when we are afraid ourselves.
We go back to those comments that were left for us. "Your fat," they say. "Your ugly" "You should just give up because no one cares and no one ever will"
You want to say something like, "I,'m not you! At least I don't need to make someone feel bad about themselves so that I can feel good about myself"
but instead, all you can say is...
"sorry"
