Normal P.O.V.
A few patients paused what they were doing in the main hall to pear over at the new arrival.
It was a teenage girl. She was accompanied by a tall man in fancy attire, and she carried a large book in one hand, her suitcase in the other. People watched from their seats as she approached the reception desk.
A group in the back didn't seem to notice her, continuing their game. The one shuffling the cards was Killua Zoldyck, skillfully handling the cards for their next round.
The one next to Killua was his best friend, Gon Freecs. He stared at the roundtable they occupied. His eyes were once shining with light. But now, they were dim, as if he took the world for what it really was, no longer the sugar-coated lie he perceived it to have been.
Taking up the last two seats were their older friends, Kurapika and Leorio.

After I exchanged a few words with the lady behind the desk, I shouldered past my escort and followed the instructions I was given to the dorms.
I felt curious pairs of eyes following me as I walked, shutting them out completely. I thought about my safe place. A white room. A white room. A white room.
Once I went upstairs, I had to stop at a corner, hoping I wasn't having a heart attack right now. I can't. My heart was racing with cooped up emotions, my body shaking uncontrollably.
Calm down.

"Gon," a man from another table called out, trying to get the caramel eyed boy's attention by tapping his shoulder. "I think you should go welcome the new girl."
Gon turned around, blinking. "Yeah. I'll go check on her." He rose from his seat, placing his cards down.
Killua snickered, "You were losing anyway."
Gon smiled, "How do you know? You haven't seen my cards."
Killua took Gon's cards in a quick swiping motion, examined them, and said, "I was right."
"Bye-bye." The green tip haired boy waved.
"You won't miss anything!" Kurapika called out, shooting the white-haired boy a glare. "Why do you tease him like that if you know how sensitive he's been lately?" He asked after Gon was out of earshot.
Killua shrugged, "He needs some cheering up."
"Then you're doing a terrible job." Leorio deadpanned, grinning at his own cards.
"I'll try harder next time~" The white-haired male sang.

I was leaning against the wall for support when a voice spoke behind me.
"Are you... Okay?"
I whipped my head around with wide eyes, registering the concerned face staring back at me. A boy.
"Yeah," I coughed for no reason. "I'm fine."
"Do you want me to help you with your suitcase? I can help you look for your room...?" He reached out for the handle of my bag and I flinched. He suddenly stopped, smiling sadly. "I'm Gon, by the way."
"Hi, Gon."
"Let me help you. Please."
I surrendered, letting go of the handle. "Thank you."
"No problem. Do you know where your room is?" He asked, looking at my book. "What book is that?"
I hid it further behind me. "Just, um, one about cooking."
