the snake's secret

Through sweet and soft and soaked and thin,
Through sand soothing upon the skin,
Through silent swings helplessly loud,
And solemn sleeps, we're safe and sound.

Suffering, sad sworn secret sorrow,
You hold yourself but still sobbing,
Let's sink and sing and dance so slow,
A soul for sale, a wound stinging.

But sirens scream somewhere ahead,
The scissors slash and split my head,
The rose is black, the lila's white.

An upside cross, a graveyard stone,
The son of God has died alone,
We kiss and sin all through the night.
