Picture this, it's the summer before your sophomore year of high school and your mom drops the bomb that you're about to move. Now, it wouldn't be such a big deal but Natalie had been going to her school since kindergarten and she was, well, one of the popular kids. Not your stereotypical popular kid though; she was nice to everyone, athletic, and smart. She moves from a large city that she loves to a small country town that she just doesn't. She doesn't think she'll get along with anyone until she meets Madison, someone who hates the stinkin' town of Valley Grove as much as she does. While missing her crush from her old school she finds herself becoming more and more interested in a nameless boy in her Spanish class. One big twist puts her between two people she doesn't want to lose more than anything. Throw in a country boy with down home roots and plenty of tricks up his sleeve and you've got yourself a whirlwind of problems. The opportunity of a lifetime may make the decision for her, however, when it proves too irresistible to pass up.

Fried eggs, my favorite. I'd know that smell anywhere. I take in my surroundings, my blue Victoria's Secret sweatpants and loose fitting white tank top are covered by soft white sheets on someone's bed that isn't mine. A bed, however, I quickly recognized as Mason's. Searching the bedside table for my phone I found it fully charged and lying next to a framed picture of the two of us at the park one day before we were, well, us; you know like a couple.
Sitting up and sighing contently I admired the photo of Mason and myself. He was wearing a fitted blue plaid shirt that hugged his muscles nicely and complemented his tan skin and brown eyes very well. My dirty blonde hair was in a side braid and I had only mascara framing my blue gray eyes. I was wearing a long sleeved white shirt under my gray sweater.
Not able to stand it anymore, I walked into the kitchen where I knew my favorite guy would be making my favorite breakfast.
"Morning," his warm voice chuckled when I wrapped my arms around his torso and layed my head on his back just taking in my most favorite smell in the world; him.
"Hi," I breathed out like I was talking to him for the first time again. He turned his head and looked at me from the corner of his eye while smiling at me. Loosening my arms on his torso, Mason turned so we were facing eachother. He took my chin between his thumb and index finger before placing a light kiss on my lips. There wasn't much leaning that had to happen since we were both the same height.
"How are you doing, babe? Did you sleep well last night?" he asked as if he were talking to an injured dog while handing me my eggs.
"I'm fine?" I said as more of a question because he caught me off guard with his tone. We both walked to the table to eat.
"You sure, pretty girl?"
"Quit with the pet names, would you? I'm fine. But since you asked about how I slept, I had the weirdest dream last night," I squirmed under his gaze as he stared at me like I was the most obsurd person on Earth.
