Vargas. Quintants. Milaps?
Who knows. Its hard to keep track of that kind of stuff while your stuck in a small cell. I lost track trying to count the ticks as they went by. I just knew i was in here for a while. And when the alarms started sounding and the ship started to shake from some tremor, I was praying for a miracle. The tremors were similar to that of one thing and one thing only. Ive felt it countless times before.
The Lions of Voltron.
And every time those four showed up, the ship was trashed. Today was the day I would most likely die; either from burning to death in an explosion or suffocating in the vacume of space. The guards heavy footsteps thumped outside of the cell door. They were probably running off to try and help out with the defense.
We were doomed.
"I wonder what the commotion is." A voice murmured through the vent next to me. The voice belonged to anitger prisoner in a cell next to mine. He was out there a little after myself. I spent my time sitting next to the vent abd speaking to him like i was doing now.
"Its the Lions of Voltron." I answered. "We're gonna die now." I added as I stared at the wall opposite of me. I stood up with a small groan. My body burned from the strenuous work outs I do, also used to pass the time.
"What are you doing?" The voice asked. We never bothered to learn each other's names but now I regret it.
"I'm standing up. A true Galra won't die while sitting. I'll go out on my feet." I replied firmly as I stared down at the vent. I heard shuffling from the other side.
"I'll stand with you."
I smiled softly and nodded. "I never learned your name..." I ventured.
"Shiro. And you?" Shiro replied curiously.
"Yorrak." I answered as I heard a single set of footsteps. They paused every few seconds before continuing after a soft beep. The beeping got louder until the footsteps stopped in front of my cell. The beep sounded and the door opened.
My eyes widened as I saw some kind of alien. It stared at me for a moment before raising a bayard at me. "Why is a Galra in a cell? What, you annoy the others too much with your mullet?" The alien sneered. I furrowed my eyebrows as I stared at him.
"What?"
"Lance?" Shiro spoke through the vent. "Lance, is that you?"
"Shiro!" The alien spoke, looking towards the center. "are you in the next cell?" He asked.
"Yeah! Geez, I didn't think you guys would ever find me." Shiro answered excitedly.
"I'll get you out in a second, first I'm gonna take this guy out." Lance replied, raising his blaster towards me.
"WAIT NO NO!" Shiro interrupted quickly. "Don't kill him!" Shiro added. "He won't attack us or the others. He's against the Empire! We're taking him with us!"
"We are?"
"You are?"
"Yes! Lance, unlock my cell. Yorrak, help us release the others." Shiro ordered. Lance stared at me for a few minutes more before he groaned and darted to the next cell. I followed him out and heard the soft beep as the door opened. An alien resembling Lance stepped out, the only one who could be Shiro.
"Shiro, go on back and guide any stragglers to the Loading Bay. Matt is waiting with other rebels in a few ships to get them out. I'll take Mr. Fuzzy to release anyone else." Lance announced.
