Honoka looked out upon the sea, the waves still with faint ripples from the townspeople's children play along with the shore. She sat on the slowly corroding port, Just listening to the comforting sound of the water as it swayed and danced with the wind. She had lived in this small village ever since she could remember. Usually, families here would be thriving. Everyone you know is here.Honoka was abandoned by her parents at this village. When the townspeople found her she had a string bracelet with a small amulet of protection. On her arm were red marks making out the rune of flame. The Chief of the village took her in.
"Honoka."
Honoka looked at the young Alchemist behind her. "Yes, Kotori?"
Kotori smiled, looking at her friend with curiosity. "Dad wanted to tell you that Umi's family will be joining us for dinner tonight."
Honoka smiled back at Kotori and stood up quickly. "Well Let's not keep them waiting right?"
Kotori nodded and the two girls walked in the direction of the chief's house. In the corner of Honoka's view, she saw that the town square was unusually busy for this time of night. Honoka grabbed Kotori's hand and headed in the direction if the town square. Everyone was crowding around the goddess shrine.
The goddess shrine was a small out cove in a mountain right next to the town square. It would normally be surrounded by flowers and dimly lit candles. Tonight it felt, off. Honoka pushed through the crowd to see two figures with a glowing white hue. One of the figures had long wavy purple tinted hair. It was tied into two loose pigtails. The other figure had blonde hair tied into a ponytail by white roses and forget-me-nots. They had pure white silk flowing around their pale bodies. They were the epitome of beauty.
The blonde locked eyes with Honoka, She pulled the purplette's arm, "Nozomi. It's her." Nozomi turned her head towards Honoka. She smiled and said in almost a motherly tone.
"Honoka, we are goddesses that wish to bestow upon you the journey you will take to become the Messiah of your people."
Honoka could hardly believe what the goddesses had told her. "I'm the next Messiah?"
