JOSH
Wolf? Oh right. She's a werewolf.
"Lose control?" I ask.
"That is when we are half forced into our wolf bodies, and we act according to our wolf. And so I will have wolf ears, tail, and the same speed, of a wolf. And that means if a human is nearby I will be forced to......" She drifts off, but I know what will happen to the human. Kill, devourer, maul. Her face shows no hint of any emotion, but her eyes are filled with dread, disgust, and worry. "I don't want to kill anyone else anymore, I'm tired of it." She says this as she lowers her head a little, like an ashamed puppy. Since she put her head down a bit, it turned into an even lower whisper. She turns her face back at me, and her face has turned emotionless once again. "Thank you for letting me rest on your bed, but I have to go. Here is a check for your bloody bed sheets." As soon as she says a check and a pen appears out of thin air. She put it on the counter, and signs her name in curvy letters. She presses it into my hand and whispers to me, "For your own safety, don't follow me today, tomorrow, or any other day. And don't speak of this to anyone." As she said this her grip on my hand tightened. As if daring me to say no. "Promise?" Her gaze glared into my skull. I nodded and gulped.
"I-I promise." Her gaze softened, and she partly released her grip on me."Good. At least I have one thing taken care of in this crazy world." After she leaves I sadly smile as I think to myself,
"I'm sorry, but I lied. I'm coming after you. I don't want to lose anyone again."
MARI
I am so glad that he agreed to stay at his cabin and to never follow me. But I was a little lonely. Since my pack was long gone I was wandering around all by myself. I take off my clothes, fold them, and put my clothes under a berry bush that only had one shriveled berry. Now I was standing naked in the woods. I transform into my wolf and give a little growl. This wasn't helping with anything. I glance around searching for a clue. A clue to finding one of my pack mates. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Hearing the movement of a fish splashing in a pond I go to investigate. A sleek, seaweed colored mermaid was splashing about with her tail fin singing a mermish song about something like dragging a man under water and eating him. Well, that is to be expected of a mermaid. I walked up to the pond and asked in mermish, if she had seen a pack of wolves coming through. She took one glance at my wolf form, screeched, and dove out of sight. I shook myself in frustration. This was going nowhere and I needed answers. Releasing a wolf sigh I walk away from the pond with the mermaid staring at me with curious and scared eyes. I move into the woods once again, keeping my snout in the air to pick up any scent of my pack.
JOSHI watched as she took off her clothes, making me turn my head away in embarrassment once again. After she was done transforming I watched as she trotted away in her wolf form, and how she talked to the mermaid (I really did not expect a mermaid to be so green and scaly). I watched as the mermaid let out a shriek of fear and dove into the cool, blue water. I saw Mari shake her pelt in frustration, and as she walked back into the forest. Following her, I forgot about her warning. She started to slowly breath in low painful gulps of air. I watched her as she started to transform into a human again, but as she did she let out a cry of pain. As she tried to stand up she stumbled and stepped on her own white tail. Her ears twitching she licked her lips, and a white gleam showed off her vampire-like teeth. Her eyes had turned distant and she snarled, as if ready to kill at command. Shoot. I forgot to check the direction of the wind. I quickly checked it and let out a sigh of relief. Than what made her snarl? I glance around and I see. . .
