"He was at my house yesterday!" I exclaimed, sitting down in front of Gabby.

"Who?" She asked.

"Thomas!" I pointed over to Thomas' group.

"What?" She gasped,"Why? How?"

"My mom apparently has been friends with his for a while and they had a get-together," I explained.

"What happened?" She looked at me expectantly.

"What are you expecting?" I asked.

"A new couple?" She looked at me hopefully.

"Yeah no," I shook my head,"One, we were babysitting kids, and two, gross, I would never date Thomas."

Gabby frowned,"Fine then, what did happen?"

"He made up an excuse to leave and went digging through my bedroom," I told her.

Gabby's eyes got big,"Did he try to take something?"

"I'm pretty sure he did take something but I couldn't figure out how to get it back," I replied.

"Destiny, you realize what this means, right?" She asked.

"That Thomas is a jerk who doesn't know when to stop?" I asked back.

"I-I mean yeah... I guess you can think of it that way..." Gabby said awkwardly.

"What other way is there?" I questioned.

"I was thinking that he obviously likes you a lot and wants to know more about you," She replied, smiling awkwardly.

"Gabby, he doesn't like me," I started,"I mean, we've known each other since Fifth grade, he knows all the terrible things there is to know and has seen all my embarrassing moments. If he likes me despite all that I'd have to ask him if he was crazy."

Gabby didn't reply, instead a voice behind me asked,"Who?"

I whipped around. Thomas was leaning over me, looking at me curiously. "No one," I growled, turning back around.

"No one huh? Is he new?" He sat beside me.

"Oh my gosh! No dad jokes!" Gabby moaned.

Thomas laughed and then asked,"Seriously though, who are you talking about?"

"Why would w-" I started but Gabby jumped in on a mission again.

"You," She grinned.

"Oh really? I'm flattered!" He grinned. Thomas always seems to smile. He looked down at me and asked,"Why do you have to ask if I'm crazy?"

I gave Gabby dagger-eyes and then replied,"Nothing important."

"It's about me though," he rebutted.

"You don't need to know," I told him.

"Tell me," he demanded.

"What're you gonna do if I don't?" I asked.

"I'll bother you any way I can," he replied.

"Oh yeah? You think that'll make me talk?" I grinned.

"Definitely," He grinned back, looking at me with evil in his eyes.

I glanced over to where Gabby should have been sitting but apparently while Thomas and I were talking she had snuck off to join some of her other friends. She looked over at me and winked before walking away, leaving me for dead.

"What should I do first?" Thomas' grin grew.

"Welp, I'm out," I got up.

"What? No, you can't leave," He grabbed my wrist.

"Let go," I tugged my hand away from him but couldn't get him to let go.

"Sit back down," He tugged my wrist lightly.

"No, stop, you're gonna make a scene," I said harshly.

"I'm fine with that, sit back down," He demanded.

I looked around and there was a few people already staring. I sat down and glared,"I'm not going to tell you."

"Come on, please?" He begged.

"No," I shook my head.

"Don't I have the right to know?" He asked.

"Not if I don't want you to," I replied.

"It's about me!" He exclaimed.

"I have the right to remain silent," I replied.

"You're not being arrested," He said.

"No, I'm being interrogated," I said back.

"Okay, I'll give you that," He shrugged,"But still, tell me."

"No," I said.

"Please?" He made big puppy eyes.

I groaned. His eyes really did me in. "Gabby was saying that you like me and I told her you'd be crazy if you did," I said quickly, making sure not to make eye contact.

There was a long silence and I glanced over to see he was internally debating something.

"I mean..." He started. "I can't really deny it..."

I looked over at him, wide-eyed, unable to hide my horror. He was staring at his lap, face as bright red as a strawberry. I wasn't sure what to do and let my body move itself. "I'm sorry," I said quickly as I got up and walked towards Gabby.

After making it to Gabby and wrapping myself around her arm I glanced over at him and saw he has his face buried in his hands. I'm sorry Thomas...

"What's up? Why do you look like that?" Gabby looked down at me concerned.

"I feel sick," I said quietly.

"W-what'd he say?" she glanced at him and then back to me, a perplexed look on her face.

"He does like me..." I told her.

She gasped,"Really? I didn't... Oh man, I'm sorry I set you up like that, I seriously thought he only saw you as a friend."

"I did too," I glanced at him one last time, and I swear I saw a single tear catch the light before he turned away.
