Alex and Madlyn

Alex was a boy who was slower than the rest. He could play like everyone. But he couldn't think like everyone. He couldn't talk as well either. But over the years his mother and father caught him up enough so he could enter high school.

It was his first day there and he sat by this girl in every period. He adored her. She was a little shorter than Alex, had brown hair, green eyes, and was so thin. She would look at him during some of the classes then look back to her book. Alex couldn't help but stare sometimes.

At lunch he sat at the table next to her table. He couldn't stop thinking about her, she was perfect to him and he had never talked to her. But it was the last period of school. He didn't pay attention he thought he would talk to Madelyn after school.

*DIIING*

The school bell went off. Alex rushed to his locker got his homework and ran outside. When Alex ran outside at the end of the sidewalk standing there, was Madlyn with her friends. Alex focused on her and started to walk towards her. When Alex got to her he said "H-hi I Alex. Me like you." Since Alex still couldn't talk well he stuttered along with his sentence. She looked at him and laughed. "How bout you leave me alone and go off with the other misfits and dorks." She said it snotty. Alex was hurt. But that didn't stop him. Each day he would say the same thing, and Madlyn would laugh every time. he repeated this for half the school year. Then each night after Madelyn would laugh, he would cut himself one time and work on his speech.

Finally Alex's speech has gotten better. So has his habits. But today after school Alex will do something that could break him forever, or hold him together.

*DIIING*

The final bell rang...
