I open my eyes to see a beautiful view of the inside of a cave. There were big crystals hanging from the ceiling. I was laying on my back in water that covered my ears. This is the best feeling ever it's like the water is hugging my body. It's so warm and relaxing. "This feels amazing." I say in a calm voice. Huh! How can I talk, I had a broken jaw? "It doesn't make sense." I say talking to myself. "Even if I got proper treatment for my jaw, it would have taken months for it to fully heal. The only way I can think of, is by the use of magic." "You are very wise my child." said the almost angelic voice which echoed off the walls of the cave. I turn around to where I think the voice was coming from. I freeze from shock, there is a dragon, which was thought to be extinct long ago, sitting in a large puddle of water curled up looking at me.
It's piercing blue looking right through me. It's eyes look like Mom's. A tear rolls its way down my cheek. "What is the matter my dear child?" "Sorry it's just......your eyes and voice remind me of my Mom." "Where is she child?" "She...was killed." Suddenly I started sobbing. I crashed to my knees, recalling all the pain and torture of watching my parents die, being captured and having to kill other children, and finally losing Sting, the one I love. "Come here my child." the dragon spoke with such a calming voice I couldn't help but walk over to it. The dragon draped its wing over my tiny body. I let it pull me closer its body, I gave in and let myself cry willingly for the first time in a year. The dragon didn't say anything, it just held me while I was racked with sobs. I didn't know if it was dark outside, but I didn't care, I cried myself to sleep in the hold of the dragon that reminded of my mother..
*YAWN* I rub my eyes that are sore from all my crying. "I see your finally awake my child" I jumped at at the sudden voice. Ah! Now I remember, I started crying and then fell asleep in front of a dragon .... nice move Liv. "Uh. Hi?"I said it more like a question than a statement. "Haha. Hi it's nice to meet you." said the dragon with an amused voice. "What is your name my child." "My name?" "Yes your name."the dragon said with a chuckle. "Oh sorry it's just... I didn't think a dragon would want to know my name." "Well I do my child so would you care to tell me?" "Y-yeah! My name's Olivia, but people just call me Liv." "That is a very beautiful name Olivia." I blushed at the sound of the familiar voice. "Um... What's your name? If you don't mind me asking." The dragon's eyes widened at my question. "What?" I asked, confused by the dragon's look. "No it is nothing my child. It's just....no one has asked for my name before, they just ran away before I could speak." The dragon looked sad, obviously recalling memories of those rude people. "That just makes them very rude people." "Haha and why is that." "Because, your nice and they didn't properly meet you. So, can I know your name?" "Yes my child, my name is Aquarion."
It has been a very long time since I have felt even the slightest bit of happiness for this long. Aquarion is taking me to meet all the creatures that live on the island, and in the coral reefs that surround the island. "This place is beautiful." I say with a relaxed sigh. "Yes it is. I have been very fortunate to call this island home for many years." We are now approaching what looks like a little water fall that leads into a pond with flat rocks sticking up from the water. "Wow! I have never seen a pond like this at home!" My face darkened at the thought of home. I miss them so much. It seems Aquarion picked up on my sudden sadness then picked up a regular sized rock and threw it into pond. As I looked at the sinking rock I noticed it started to glow. How did she do that? It looked like a regular rock. I thought with a confused look on my face. Aquarion, being as perceptive as ever, sees the confusion on my face and answers my question before I can even ask it. "These rocks are called glow stones, and they have microscopic creatures on them that glow when they touch water." "Are you sure you can't read my mind?" "No Liv, I can just tell you have a very curious mind. Which is perfect for being my new student." "What do you mean new student? Who ever said that?" "I did." "Hold on a minut-" before I could protest the water started to bubble up like something was coming to the surface. Suddenly, half fish - half human creatures jumped out of the water like dolphins, gracefully landing on the rocks. "Are they mermaids?!" I ask in amazement. "No we are sirens!" One of them with a hurt expression.
