The air is thick and tense. The clock on the bedroom wall is ticking slowly and every tick is a sharp pain to everyone's ears, reminding them of the awkward and embarrassing situation they've found themselves in.
The guardian and the hunter are seated next to each other on the sofa whereas the princess and prince have taken a place opposite them on the end of the princess's kingsized bed. Jimin's looking at Seokjin, Seokjin at Jungkook, Jungkook at Irene and Irene back at Jungkook.
'So,' the princess begins, her eyes piercing into Jungkook's skull as she observes him sceptically. 'He is going to travel with us now?' She takes Seokjin's hand and squeezes it to make him turn to her before looking up at him with a questioning look, as if to say, Are you serious?
Jungkook's gaze falls on the prince's hand held by his future wife and the smirk on his face is barely repressed. He bites his lower lip to keep himself from sniggering when he remembers what had occurred some hours ago.
'So what's the deal?' Jungkook asked as he observed his bed, which was positioned diagonally by an inch as if someone had shoved it to another place.
'What do you mean?' Jimin replied with a question of his own as he studied the night stand, wondering whether he put it back in the right spot between the two beds.
The current situation was that they didn't wish to bother the owner of giving one of her free rooms to the man who had previously put a gun to her head and threatened her. The only possibility was to keep Jungkook in the prince's and guardian's room for the night, which both the prince and the hunter weren't very keen on.
Just as Jimin and Jungkook had entered their room, Jungkook insisted that he'd stay with his old friend and have the prince move out. Seokjin's jaw dropped, flabbergasted, until he finally recovered and elevated his eyebrow at Jimin. The latter was merely able to shrug, walk towards the prince and suggest in a hushed voice: 'Just do it, you can stay with the princess for the night, on her couch or something.'
With an enthousiastic wave of his hand as he stood behind them, Jungkook smiled cheekily while wishing the prince a good night. The prince ignored this as he left.
'I'm just getting an idea from what I've seen until now,' the hunter's voice trailed off slightly as he grabbed an edge of his bed and shoved it back in its place, perfectly vertical. 'It seems like, amongst the three of you, the third wheel isn't you.'
Jimin's cheeks were slowly colouring themselves with a red hue as he felt himself freeze slightly on the edge of his bed. Shooting a glance at Jungkook, his mouth formed an odd shape, between a grimace and a smile, before letting out an unconvincing snicker.
'Rather, it must be the princess,' Jungkook continued softly with big eyes, staring at the fuzzy, beige carpet while finding himself deep in thought. Finally he understood what Prince V had meant. Was it really so?
'Don't be stupid,' Jimin countered as he tried to avoid the hot topic. 'We should get some sleep, it's already to late.'
'It's true, isn't it?' Jungkook shot back before having his mouth fall open in awe.
Steadily the faint tinge of red on Jimin's cheeks turned into a darker shade as he was frantically shaking his head and repeatedly muttering soft no's.
'I can see the beds are shoved back into position!' Jungkook went on as he tried to deduce what had happened. 'So that is why he entered the room first, to rearrange the furniture, is that right?'
'No! Don't be so loud!' Jimin tried to counter, but Jungkook's shook face was starting to show signs of understanding.
'Yes, it was, Jimin!' Jungkook exclaimed victoriously. 'Oh my god,' he dragged the last word dramatically, 'you two are sleeping together!'
