Kennedy Lewis wakes up in a cold sweat, to find himself in his house. Everything normal, except when Kennedy reached for his phone, in its place was a calculator.

In his confusion, he brushed it off as a dream and went back to sleep. After waking up to a louder alarm this time, his mom called him to breakfast and that's when he froze in his place.

What the actual fuck, he thought.

That's when Kennedy realized the change. The TV was much different, and all the cluttered gadgets in the corner that his dad owned were gone.

"Mom, what day is it?" Kennedy asked, scared of the answers as he asked further questions.

"Wednesday." His mom replied, noticing his tone. "Why do you ask?" She added.

"No, mom, I mean what date," Kennedy asked again.

"January sixteen." She replied, this time truly concerned about why her son was being so suspicious.

At that, far too confused to ask, Kennedy went to school and things only got weirder as he thought about the paradoxes and time-space laws he was breaking by existing, or even worse, interacting with people from the past.

Just like that, the school was like it's 1970's spirit, with the fences missing and the school sign font different. Hell, even the tiles were different. Kennedy asked for his schedule, but when the front lady turned around, it wasn't Ms. Whitterson. It was an old lady who called herself Ms. Patterson, or for short, Ms. Patty.

After asking for his schedule, trying to see if somehow his documents were filed into the school, he was asked for his first name, and when he said Kennedy he was given a schedule. The schedule was not his, in fact, it was another Kennedy but from that time frame, the only difference was he was not a Lewis, and he was definitely not as handsome as the photo of the kid he just stole the identity of.

Things got weirder when BAM! Kennedy bumped into a familiar friend. It was Mya Peters, his friend from the would-be 2018 timeframe. Before they could talk, Mya and Kennedy opted to go to a place that they knew existed, at least in their timeline, from the summer volunteering right before the time mishap.

When they got to the place, surprisingly, the storage room was intact.

Really shows how they've never moved a thing in that storage room ever since '74,   Kennedy thought.

Upon opening the door, which notable for was in pristine condition and a much more vintage hue of paint, Mya and Kennedy screeched. The silence during the trip to the storage room was almost unreal, seeing faces they'd only seen when they broke into the media center to check the old yearbooks.

"What the actual fuck is going on."
Kennedy started, with a scared, more in awe expression.

"I don't even know, my mom looks younger and my phone is gone, Kennedy. This is weird. And apparently, we're in 1974?"
Mya replied, looking even more confused after every word.

"If I'm in 1974.. and you're in 1974.. then that means-" Kennedy stopped for a quick thought before continuing again.

"Our friends!" They said in unison, before busting out the storage room.

They searched the most obvious places depending on the character of each and every one of their friends. After checking almost half of the school's locations, secret and public, they were starting to lose hope.

That was, until Kennedy and Mya saw a little coup at the corner of the school, screaming and hollering as even more familiar people came to recognition.

In the distance, Kennedy saw the faces of Nina Harris, Jacks Brown, Moses Carter, Jace Jackson, Izzy Abney, and James Gordon.

Their clothing even more confusing as the timeline, as their clothing morphed from their 2018 designs, preserving their looks but to fit into a more 70's ish look. Nina Harris' anime hoodie morphed into a more coarse design, the characters blurred as self explanatory, the anime hadn't even been made all the way back in '74.

Jacks Brown and the rest of them, looking alive and well, with the slight touches of the vintage timeline they were in such as the shifted hairstyles and the loss of a vital device they'd been using for most of their lives: their phones.

When Kennedy and Mya ran to them to say hello, they were greeted by loud arguments and attempted discussions as some like Moses Carter tried to get out of the timeline but James Gordon insisted that they found out exactly why and how they were in the timeline.

They showed off their schedules, with an ironically eerie vibe setting as they looked at the names and characteristics of the stolen identities they took. Some of them had the same first names or last names as the people they'd stolen the identities of, but creepier was the fact that they all matched the same initials as them.

The school day would go about as normal, except the 2018 Blueford kids decided to be looser, sometimes even disrespectful to their teachers as they never belonged in the timeframe.

When Izzy Abney got cut by a loose sharpener blade, she realized the wound healed instantaneously and decided to show it to her friends during lunch. No matter how much she cut her skin, it went back to normal immediately.

More and more was to be figured out about the odd situation they were in. They planned to go to a place in town that should be built way before 1974, the Velma Toledo Memorial Park, more commonly called "Lakes Park" by the youth of the area.

By 6:30 the plan was to meet up in the open field by the baseball area. Jacks was the first there, admiring the view and treading on the grass and clay before plopping down in the darker corners of the patch, waiting for the rest.

Soon enough, everyone started showing up and they were all back into one big group. They discussed plans to get back into the present like information from books, presented by Jace and Moses, but were disregarded by Izzy because they were fictional.

Fictional could've been the word to justify her claim, but do note that this was 1974. This wasn't 2018, in fact, it was far from it. Fictional isn't in existence anymore when you've time traveled years into the past with your memories intact.

What was going on?
